Three days later, we arrived in Glacier Point. It looked like a vibrant city with the tall skyscrapers and numerous shops. Thinking back, I guess I didn't really travel outside of Cliffbarrow much.

"I'll need some supplies to make more healing potions and we should probably find someplace to sleep too," I told Cyris.

"Where could we get supplies without being caught?"

"That's...a good point. Hmm... I don't need much to make healing potions. We could gather the herbs I need in the woods. They should grow around here."

Cyris nodded. "Just tell me what to look for."

"Calendula and chamomile," I replied. I pulled out a book from my bag. It was a recipe book essentially. I used it to log my potion recipes along with photos of herbs I'd need. I flipped it open to the healing potion and showed Cyris the photos of the herbs. "That's what I need."

Cyris took a good look at the images.

"Okay, I'll be back."

He went searching for the herbs, disappearing into the woods, and after a while he returned with an arm full of each plant.

"That's plenty. Thank you, Dewdrop," I told him.

We were just at the edge of Glacier Point, away from prying eyes, so I decided to get to work. I got out some vials and created a mortar and pestle made of ice. I ground up the herbs with the pestle and turned to Cyris.

"Some water please, love?" I asked.

He waved his fingers and a small stream of water trickled from them. He filled up the mortar with just enough water to mix well with the other ingredients. I stirred the mixture with the pestle and flicked my wrist. The pestle changed into a small ladle and I began pouring the potion into the vials.

"Try not to break any more vials please," I told him. "I only have so many."

Cyris bit his lip. "Whoops, I'm sorry baby."

He watched me work with admiration for a few moments. I stoppered the vials and put them in my bag.

"Rosanna, where did you learn how to handle this kind of stuff?" Cyris asked.

"Before I ran from Cliffbarrow I used to read up a lot on potions and how to make them. My m—Isabelle had her own herb garden so my curiosity was indulged I guess. I got good at it and started logging my creations," I explained.

"...She was your mother too," he told me.

"I know...it just feels weird saying it now after everything we found," I admitted before going back to the discussion about potions. "The healing potion is the easiest one to make, but there are a few variations of it. I think it was one of the first ones I mastered. It's weird...potion making and herbs used to bring me a strange sense of peace. I don't know if you noticed, but I had a herb box on the balcony of the apartment to fuel my potion brewing habits."

"You light up when you speak of potions," Cyris smiled. "I'm glad one of us knows about it, because it's definitely handy."

"I'm glad it's useful. It's a good skill to have I guess. Maybe I'll teach you a few basic potions if you'd like to learn?"

"I'd love to!" his eyes twinkled, and that made me happy.

I smiled as I put away my potion log.

"Well our healing potion supply is replenished. Thank you for the water and gathering the herbs, love," I told him.

"Anything I can do to help," Cyris smiled. "Should we keep moving?"

"Probably a good idea," I agreed.

We entered Glacier Point and I couldn't help but notice how quiet the streets were.

"Cyris?" I said softly. "I think we should get off the streets." I pointed to a sign that warned of a mandatory 3 AM curfew.

"A curfew?" he cursed. Neither of us had expected a curfew, but with the Trillium in charge it shouldn't have been so surprising.

"What are we going to do?" I asked. "We need to get off the streets. But where do we go?"

"Underground for the night?"

"The sewer?" I asked, slightly surprised. That probably wasn't a good idea considering I was pregnant. I didn't want to risk getting sick down there. But how was I going to tell him?

"I know Rose, it's terrible, but there are no woods close by this time, and we definitely can't get a room somewhere," he pointed out.

Then it dawned on me. There was a spell I could use. "I have an idea, but it's a little risky..." I told him.

"I'm listening..."

"I know a spell that will make my ice act as a one way mirror without giving away our position. We can hide in an alley and I'll create a wall around us. The wall will blend into the background. No one will know we're there. It's risky because I've never done it before."

"I swear, you never cease to amaze me," Cyris smirked.

I smiled back at him. Cyris always seemed to believe in me, even when I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to pull something off.

"Come close to the corner here and hold on to me. I don't think I'll be able to give us much room, but I'll try," I told him.

He came to me and wrapped his arms around me, "I'm okay with that, the less room the better." His breath on my ear gave me shivers.

I lifted my hands and barricaded us into the corner of the alley, chanting softly under my breath in Aezina, a Riofaltan language. The ice became clear, we could see through it, but no one on the other side would be able to see us thanks to my spell.

"Pretty cool, babe!"

"Thanks," I told him. "Maybe we should take turns sleeping for tonight?"

"Agreed, you sleep first," Cyris insisted.

I nodded. I took out a blanket and wrapped it around us both as we sat on the ground with our backs against the wall. I closed my eyes and let myself drift off to sleep.
