After our six hour flight, we were greeted with a small motorcade outside of the airport in Wintervale. Kian explained that he would send his best guards to pick us up and drive us to the palace, so I wasn't surprised. The ride was pretty quick, not even thirty minutes, and we pulled up to a big iron gate. There was a security guard that was stationed on the left hand side of us. He scanned the vehicle closely, and then we slowly drove onto the royal grounds.
Kian had done so much since I was last here, it looked amazing! The grounds look well kept and regrown. The palace looked brand new as well.
As we pulled up in front of the front door of the palace, Kian and Arissa came out to greet us.
I got out of the car and Kian gave me a big smile.
"Cyris!" he exclaimed. I smiled back at him. We clasped hands and embraced like the brothers we now were.
"Kian! You look...great!" I laughed. "The palace looks awesome, by the way."
"Not as amazing as the Esporian palace, but it's getting there. There's a lot left to be done."
"You remember my cousin Ren, right?" I asked.
"Of course we met at the wedding," Kian replied as he turned to Ren.
"It's good to see you again, King Kian," Ren bowed.
"We're family, Ren, you don't need to be so formal."
Arissa turned to me and gave me a big smile.
"It's really nice to see you again, Cyris. How's Rose?" she asked.
"It's great to see you too, Arissa. Rose is doing great! She's getting big," I beamed.
"Do you have pictures?" Arissa asked as we went inside. "I saw her baby bump at the wedding, but she hasn't sent me many photos since."

Later on, we all shared dinner as we laughed and got reacquainted. I ended up showing Arissa and Kian all of the pictures I had of Rosanna on my phone. I guess I didn't realize how many I took of her, but she was just so beautiful to me, I always wanted to capture her. In most of the photos her gorgeous smile was on display or her laugh was. But there was one photo that was my favourite and it was currently my lock screensaver. It was a photo of Rosanna and she was standing on the balcony as the sun rose up over the ocean. Her hands were resting on her baby bump and her long platinum blonde hair was down in waves. Her eyes were closed and she looked at peace. I doubt she even knew I'd taken this photo, but it was my favourite.
After everyone was finished eating, the royal staff cleaned up for us, and the mood seemed to change. When Arissa excused herself and kissed Kian goodnight, I knew Kian was ready to talk about what's been happening here in Riofalt. I was sure Arissa knew what was going on, but Kian still waited for her to be out of the room completely before saying a word. The rest of us waited for him to start the discussion.
