Later that day, Kian, Arissa, Cyris and I all sat down for dinner. We were all enjoying the meal the cooks had prepared, well everyone else was. I wasn't that hungry and pushed the food around on my plate. Finally I sighed and gave up. I pushed the plate away from myself, not having taken many bites. I felt Cyris' eyes on me and I felt his concern through our bond. I knew my lack of appetite worried him, but he seemed to be the only one that noticed.
"How was your check up today?" Arissa asked.
"Yeah, great question! How's my nephew?" Kian inquired as he looked at me.
Cyris choked on his drink, then dabbed at his mouth with a napkin.
"Cyris, you okay over there?" Kian asked with a smirk.
Cyris nodded as he coughed, and tried to regain his composure.
"We're having twins...a boy and a girl," I admitted as I held my head, feeling it pound. I let out a soft wince and felt a bit of pain in my stomach.
"TWINS?!" Kian and Arissa exclaimed with wide eyes. All traces of humour left Kian's face.
I let out a soft gasp of pain.
"Rose? What's wrong?" Arissa asked, her expression wary. "You didn't really eat."
Something felt off. I was feeling a little faint and exhausted. But it was probably just the pregnancy.
"I'm...fine...I'm tired and just not that hungry," I admitted. But then a wave of dizziness washed over me. "I'm feeling a bit dizzy honestly..."
"Rose... let me help," Cyris stated as he stood up quickly.
"Oh no!" Arissa got up quickly and came to my side. She felt my forehead with the back of her hand.
My head started pounding and I rested my elbows on the table as I rubbed my temples, trying to ease the pain. "I just...I need a minute..." I assured them. My throat started getting really dry. "Can I have a glass of water please?
"Of course," my brother stated. He motioned for one of the maids to bring water to the table.
A maid handed me a glass of water and I downed it quickly. I felt a little less dizzy, but I still felt weak. Cyris was by my side at this point. He brushed sweaty hair from my face and neck as he looked at me with concern.
"Maybe we should call it a night," Kian suggested.
"Definitely," Cyris declared.
My eyelids were getting heavy. I was exhausted. "I'm...fine...I'm just tired," I stated.
"You look like you're going to pass out, let me carry you," Cyris told me.
Kian was now a bit panicked as he got up from the table.
"Cyris...can you just pass me another glass of water?" I asked tiredly. Cyris poured another glass for me swiftly, then helped me drink it. "I don't know what's going on...I always make sure to drink enough water during the day..." I admitted.
Cyris looked me over desperately, I could practically see his mind turning, trying to help with my condition.
"The children...? Could they be...using magic?" he inquired.
"Maybe..." I replied weakly.
Polaris and Farryn appeared at the same time, causing a small flurry of pink snow.
