Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake

I woke up with a sore back, and immediately noticed Rosanna had fallen back to sleep. I wasn't too worried because it seemed like her spell had worked. Glacier Point was awake and alive again, and I could hear the bustle coming from outside of the alley. I kissed Rosanna's forehead, then kissed her lips, and she began to stir.

"Rose, it's morning, we have to get up," I stated softly.

She opened her eyes and yawned.

"Morning Cyris," she told me. "Sorry... I guess I fell asleep."

"Don't be sorry, your spell worked!"

"Oh good," she sighed in relief before putting away the blanket. She looked around for any prying eyes and then lowered the barrier. "I guess we should go look around then?"

I nodded and grabbed ahold of her hand. We walked out of the alley, joining in the crowd without any suspicion. No one seemed to look at us as if we didn't belong, despite Rosanna's fear that her hair would draw attention. My beloved Vasia tapped my shoulder and inclined her head towards a bar.

"For later, possible intel," she murmured low enough for just me to hear.

I nodded and glanced at the building she pointed out as we walked by, locking it into my memory.

"Are you hungry?"

"A little," she admitted. She grabbed a couple of apples out of her bag and handed one to me.

As I munched on the apple, I couldn't help but be in awe of the woman I loved. She had come so far from the terrified witch that I'd first met in Silverport. Her potion skills...her magical prowess...she was incredible. Her eyes had lit up when she talked about potion recipes. When I made her the Queen of Espor, I'd make sure to mark the occasion by giving her a greenhouse of herbs and a space to brew her potions. She deserved that. She deserved to have everything her heart desired. I heard a soft gasp escape Rosanna's lips as we entered a square and spotted some people putting up decorations.

"What? What is it?" I asked.

"Those decorations...they only go up in Riofalt around the Festival of the Falling Stars," she replied. "It's this big party that celebrates love and happiness as the stars shoot across the sky. I didn't think we'd be around for it..."

"Well, then, we should go," I told her.

A smile graced her features and her eyes sparkled. "Really? But I thought we wouldn't have time or it'd be too dangerous..."

"I don't see any problem, as long as we aren't recognized."

"Thank you." She kissed my cheek. "The Festival of the Falling Stars was my favourite holiday when I was younger, I just never had anyone to share it with."

My heart hurt for Rosanna hearing she didn't get the chance to share the festival with anyone, but I was also full of joy. I'd be the first person Rosanna enjoyed the festival with, and that made me excited. Once again, she made me feel like a big kid.

"If they're putting up decorations now, it means the Festival is tomorrow," she told me.

"Alright, sounds like a great plan to me, bar scouting tonight, festival tomorrow. Will this festival have free food?" My stomach growled.
