It had been two weeks since my first Council meeting, and now it was two days before my wedding. Well, my royal wedding, I should say. That meant hundreds of people coming to watch Rosanna walk down the aisle. I admit, I was more nervous about our wedding than I had been about my coronation.
Currently, Rosanna and I were laying in bed together, just snuggling after a night filled with bliss.
"I know it's two days early, but did you want your birthday present now?" Rosanna asked. "There's no way Sidra will let me give it to you on your actual birthday, not with our wedding going on."
"Mm, last night wasn't my gift," I smirked.
"As much as you enjoyed it, no...last night wasn't your gift. Here I'll go get it." She got out of bed and went into our closet, coming back with a gift box. "Happy early birthday, my love," she told me as she handed me the gift.
I opened it to find a sonogram. It had been framed and the edges of the frame had been engraved with "Best Dad Ever" and "Love You Daddy." I was speechless at first, and I became emotional instantly. I sat up on the edge of the bed to look over the photo thoroughly. I ran my hand over the image of my unborn child.
"Vasia!" I breathed. I touched my necklace, then gazed at Rosanna. "You always give the perfect gifts."
"I'm glad you like it," she told me as she kissed my lips softly. "I have to go and get ready. I'm supposed to meet Sidra to go over some wedding details, but I'll see you later. I love you, Siotas."
"I see you've become fond of that word," I smirked.
"It sounds right when I use it to refer to you," she replied. "Is that alright? I never asked if you liked it."
I kissed Rosanna deeply, then pressed my forehead to hers.
"Of course I like it... I mean, I love it!" I told her.
She gave me a glittering smile and kissed me one last time before she moved to get up from the bed. I grabbed her wrist gently, and she turned to face me again. I bit my lip as I gazed at my wife... I really loved being able to call her that. I loved being able to call her my Queen more, but most of all, I loved being able to just say she was mine. All mine.
"Come back to bed, love..." I coaxed.
She bit her lip and sighed. She turned around and straddled my hips. "If Sidra kills me for being late, I'm blaming your insatiable need for me," she told me.
"I'm totally fine with that," I smirked. "You can blame me all you want."
"I guess I'm just as insatiable as you..." she admitted with a smile as she kissed me, "Alright...I'll stay...for a little while."
I pulled her into bed, then rolled on top of her, and she giggled. We got lost in each other's embrace very quickly as desire overcame the both of us.
