It had been two days since my head injury and Cyris hadn't let me train since. He was concerned for my well being, and he wanted to make sure I was okay before we continued. Of course he was out; he never missed a day of training.

I was sick of sitting in the apartment and I felt fine. I knew that I needed to train. So I slipped on a pair of tight yoga pants, and a t-shirt before tying up my hair in a loose braid. I slipped on my shoes and headed out to the clearing where I knew Cyris loved to train.

Sure enough, I found him there. He was completely focused on what he was doing, using the trees as targets for his water magic. With certain hand movements, he was able to produce streams of water that he could shoot at fast speeds.

"Cyris," I said softly. I didn't think I'd said it that loudly, but my voice cut through the air and he turned around to face me.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I'm here to train," I told him.

"Rose, we already talked about this."

"Cyris, I'm fine. Please... I need to train."

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, "Alright fine, since you're here anyway, we'll train."

I nodded.

"We're alone today..." he paused, seemingly pondering the idea that we were alone. "So I guess I'll have to do things a little differently today."

"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.

"I want you to charge at me, I'll defend myself, and then we'll switch roles."

I nodded and charged at him. As he said, we went back and forth, switching roles; he made me copy the defensive moves he would use, and apply them when he took the offensive position. It seemed like we kept that up for a couple hours at least.

I took up the offensive position again and charged at him. I moved quickly, catching him off guard and ended up knocking him down. He landed on his back and I straddled his hips, pinning him to the ground with the weight of my body.

"Whoa! Great form!" Cyris praised breathlessly. "Where did that come from?"

"Easy. I watched your moves and found an opening," I replied as I tried to catch my breath. As I looked at him, I couldn't help but get lost in his beautiful hazel eyes. Gods... they were beautiful. His whole face was beautiful... golden brown skin... luscious lips. What would it be like to kiss those lips? And as that thought crossed my mind, I felt my heart start to pound. Our faces were incredibly close together and my heart longed to close the distance between us, but my head was fighting it.

Don't, you could freeze him solid, my mind cautioned.

Cyris reached up and brushed a few loose strands of hair out of my eyes. His fingers brushed against my skin as he did so and I felt a shiver run through my body. My heart decided to chime in. If you don't try, you'll never know. And although I was terrified of hurting him, I needed to know what it was like. I needed to know if I had any chance of being with him this way. I needed to take the risk. I inhaled sharply and silently prayed to anyone who'd listen to not let this end badly. And then I pressed my lips to his.

I thought maybe I had gone too far because he froze up, but after a short moment, he leaned into the kiss. The same hand he used to brush hair from my face, was now cradling the side of my neck. One of my hands moved to grip his left upper arm as I let things get a little more heated between us. My emotions were running high, and for once I let myself feel them, be consumed by them. It was exhilarating and liberating. I'd never felt this way before. I felt his hands run down my sides, caressing the curves of my body and I let go, letting him completely ensnare my senses. I wasn't focused on anything else.
