I stood on the pedestal in front of the three panel mirror two days later wearing a wedding dress. The dress had an off the shoulder neckline and was tighter at the top before flowing down to my feet like a waterfall. It showed off my small baby bump a little, not that I minded. The sleeves were long and sheer, with sparkling beaded patterns in places. The bodice of the dress was covered in small sparkling beads. The sparkle seemed to make the dress look like it was covered in little icicles and I loved it. There was even a train. It was fairly simple and yet incredibly elegant. The whole dress was lavender, following Riofaltan tradition. The dress' off the shoulder neckline paid homage to my mother, Ilaria, and the dress she wore on her wedding day.

Sidra entered the room with a silver circlet with an amethyst in the center and handed it to me. I slipped it on my head, letting the amethyst fall on my forehead and taking care not to mess up the elegant braided bun that Sidra had created. My lips were deep red and my green eyes had been highlighted with some makeup. I was so happy with how everything had turned out.

"Your Highness, you have visitors," a maid told me as she entered the closet.

"Let them in," I told her.

I looked in the mirror and watched as Kian strolled into the closet carrying a wrapped box with a bow on it, and Arissa followed behind him.

"Rose! You look so beautiful!" he praised.

"Thank you!" I exclaimed as I turned around to face them, stepping off the pedestal. "I'm so happy you both could make it!"

"I don't think I've ever seen anything more beautiful than you," Arissa stated. Her eyes glistened.

"You're so sweet, Arissa. When did you both get here? Was the journey long?"

"Maybe about an hour ago? But of course, getting here is a trip on its own," Kian chuckled.

"Ugh, but the plane ride! Six hours!" Arissa groaned.

"Babe, it was only six hours..." Kian shook his head.

"Six hours too much," she protested. Arissa turned to me with a big grin. "Rosanna! I can't believe we're here for your wedding!"

"I'm so happy you're both here!" I replied. Then I gestured to Sidra. "This is Sidra Varley, by the way. She's Cyris' cousin and my handmaiden. Sidra, this is my older brother, Kian and my sister in law, Arissa."

Sidra dropped into a curtsey. "Your Majesties," she greeted them.

"Please, don't be so formal," Kian smiled. "We're family now."

"Nice to meet you, Sidra!" Arissa hugged Sidra tightly.

Sidra smiled and hugged Arissa back. Then she glanced at her watch and turned to me.

"It's almost time, Rose," Sidra told me. My heart pounded in my chest and I glanced at the engagement ring on my finger. Cyris had given it to me a few weeks ago. It was a custom made silver band with one large icy colored diamond in the center. The silver was wrapped around the diamond like vines. It was beautiful and I could still remember what Cyris had said when he'd given it to me.

This ring represents how I see you. You're a unique snowflake just like this icy diamond. I love you. I want to spend every single day, of the rest of my life, with you, and only you. As my friend, as my lover, as my Queen.

I smiled at the memory and excitement coursed through my veins. I couldn't wait to walk down the aisle towards Cyris!

"I guess that means you need to go take your seat in the gardens, Arissa," I told her.

"Yay! And we have front row seats! Love you, Rose! See you out there," Arissa hugged me. Then she grabbed Sidra's hand, and tugged her along. "Come on, Sidra, you can sit next to me!"

They left together, laughing and smiling.

Kian gazed at me with adoration, his big green eyes smouldering. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was holding back tears.

"What is it?" I asked. "What's wrong?"

He chuckled softly as he presented the box to me.

"Nothing, I'm just...I'm so happy that we found each other."

"I am too," I assured him as I took the box and opened it. Inside the box was a pale blue hooded cloak with a silvery shimmer. The clasp was a falcon, so I knew this cloak was from Riofalt.

"Kian... it's beautiful," I told him.

"Yes it is, and it was our mother's cloak. She wore it when she went into battle with our father."

My breath caught in my throat as I processed his words. This had been my mother's cloak. She'd worn this in battle. My eyes glistened with emotion and I tried to contain my tears.

"Thank you...really Kian...this means a lot," I told him.

"You're welcome, little sister," he kissed my forehead. "Now, I think it's time for us to take a walk?"

I took a deep breath and nodded. I was ready. Ready to walk down the aisle and marry Cyris officially. I touched my baby bump as I took note of just how far the two of us had come. We'd gone from two closed off individuals to two people that couldn't live without the other. I was ready for this. I was ready to truly start building a life with Cyris.

"I'm ready," I told my brother.

"Before we go...I just want to say that it's almost as if you were born to become the Queen of Espor, Rose. It's like you were born to be Cyris' chosen Queen," Kian told me. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, embracing him with joy.

After we pulled apart, Kian looped his left arm with my right arm, and escorted me out to the gardens.

The doors to the gardens were windowed and I saw that there was a path of rose petals, creating an aisle

The doors to the gardens were windowed and I saw that there was a path of rose petals, creating an aisle. The aisle was lined with pedestals of elaborate bouquets. The aisle led up an arch. The arch had vines of azaleas and blue violets and pieces of blue fabric wrapped around it. And then I looked under the arch and saw him. Cyris. I barely noticed the officiant and Ren standing near him. He was wearing his father's cape, paired with the most majestic, and beautiful vest I had ever seen. The vest was dark blue, and was decorated with silver and black beads that formed an intricate pattern—a wolf. He also wore a black dress shirt and black pants. Gazing at my husband now felt so different. I mean, I saw him every day, but today meant so much more.

The doors opened and I heard the soft music playing, courtesy of the small orchestra that was nearby. This was it. I was ready to take this step and walk forward to my new life. A life that I would share with Cyris Castellan.
