The next morning, my body was sore from the events of last night. Of course the room we chose happened to have a huge window, with torn curtains so the sunlight woke me up. I heard a soft groan beside me as Rosanna woke up well.
"Morning," she said tiredly.
"Good morning," I replied, and kissed the side of her face.
We got up and got ready for the day. Despite being abandoned, the palace seemed to have running water, so we were able to brush our teeth. After last night, I wanted to show Rosanna that I could do better, and get along with Kian.
"You think your brother and Arissa are up yet?" I asked.
"Maybe," she replied. "Based on the last few days, Arissa is an early riser."
I could tell she didn't really want to talk about Kian, so I changed the subject.
"What should we do today?"
"Well I'll need to make more of my igniting potion. Hopefully I can use some of my mom's ingredients," she replied. "We should also think about gathering some intel about the state of Espor."
"I'm sure your mom has more than enough ingredients for you. As for the intel, you really think we could get some? Espor is pretty far from here."
"It wouldn't hurt to try. Besides, Trillium guards are lurking around. They must know something."
"Babe," I chuckled. "We can't exactly ask the guards for information..."
"I never said we had to ask them for information," she told me. She pulled her potion log out of her bag and opened it to a truth serum. She showed me the recipe. "It's weak, but...it might last long enough for us to get what we need..."
"Problem solved, I guess."
"I think my mom had most of these ingredients in her lab. It'll take time to brew and we'll maybe get an hour, maybe a bit longer, to get what we need from the Trillium guard."
"Sounds like a plan to me," I stated.
Gazing at Rosanna, I got lost quickly. It was so easy to get lost in her captivating green eyes. But then I found myself looking over her body. This was the worst time for this to happen, but I was aching for her. I pulled on her shirt until she was in my arms, and I planted a soft kiss on her lips. I knew it was wrong of me to seduce her in our current circumstances, but my desire was overwhelming. Something about her was drawing me in.
Rosanna pulled away reluctantly. "Cyris," she whispered. "This...This may not be the best place for that."
"Please...I need you," I husked. I picked her up and brought her to the bed.
"Okay..." she relented.
I laid her down and started kissing her neck immediately, using her weak spot against her. She sighed my name, and it made me shiver. Hearing her was music to my ears. I grabbed at the hem of her shirt, but before I could go any further, I heard loud knocking at the door.
"We should ignore it," I panted.
"You know we can't," she replied breathlessly.
"Ugh! Fine," I groaned.
The knocking happened again and I got up unenthusiastically. I opened the door to see a smiling Arissa.
"Morning," she greeted me.
