Piarari Key
Raxo (racks-oh): love

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It was still morning by the time we reached the outskirts of Blackwater. I checked my watch, it took us close to two hours, including breaks.

"This is Blackwater?" Rosanna asked. "It's beautiful."

"Wait until you see the city," I told her.

"How do you feel?" she asked. "Being back here, I mean."

"I have mixed emotions, I guess..."

She gave my hand a comforting squeeze. We came across a tall fence I didn't remember, and I wasn't sure how we were supposed to get past it.

Rosanna looked around and created a staff of ice, using it to pole-vault herself over the fence. She landed on her feet on the other side and snapped her fingers. An ice staff appeared in my hand and she looked at me expectantly.

I looked at her like she was crazy! How did she expect me to be agile like she was?! She gave me a look and gestured to the city, silently asking if I wanted this or not.

I bit my lip. She was right, I wanted this-needed this. It was all for Espor. I inhaled, then exhaled deeply. I did the best I could to imitate Rosanna's movements, but my arm brushed the top of the fence, throwing off my balance. I landed on the other side in a heap at Rosanna's feet.

"Made it..." I groaned.

"You okay?" she asked, stifling a giggle.

I got up, then dusted off my clothes and cloak.

"Like you care," I frowned at her.

She frowned back.

"I care, Cyris," she assured me. "I care a lot."

"So you say, but your smirk tells me otherwise."

"I guess I'm surprised that you didn't land on your feet. You're always so agile when we spar," she admitted.

"Yes, but sparring doesn't include pole vaulting, Rose," I countered. "We should get moving."

She grabbed my arm and pulled me in for a quick kiss.

"I'm sorry, raxo, I didn't mean to laugh," she told me softly.

She always knew how to melt my heart.

"Okay, okay, I forgive you. Can we go?"

She nodded and we went into the city. Rosanna looked around in awe as we took in the bustling city of Blackwater. There were numerous skyscrapers and shops of all kinds. People were crowding the streets, shopping. I'd missed the liveliness of this place.

As Rosanna and I walked, we weren't watching where we were going, and Rosanna collided into a young woman.

"Hey, don't you have eyes?!" the woman scowled. Suddenly, she gasped and dropped the basket of fruit she was holding. "C-Cyris?"

"Oh Gods! I'm so sorry! Here let me help," Rosanna stated as she bent down to gather the items. Then she noticed the way the woman was looking at me. "You... You two know each other?" Rosanna asked.

It couldn't be... She was alive?! Her chocolate brown eyes and dark hair tugged at my heartstrings. But it really couldn't be her, could it...?!

"We-" I began, but the woman cut me off.
