"No, no, no!" I gasped. Cyris had just passed out. He couldn't die here. Not like this. I couldn't let this happen. So I quickly finished the cure and held it to his lips. "Please... please come back to me," I whispered as I gently poured the liquid down his throat.
I prayed that I wasn't too late. I begged for more time with him. He needed to live. The man I loved needed to live. But as I attempted to heal him, the adrenaline coursing through my veins started wearing off. I'd used too much magic at once during the fight with Circe. I was exhausted, but I needed to stay awake. I couldn't let Cyris go. And yet, my body wouldn't listen to my heart. My eyes rolled back into my head and everything went black.

I woke up with a gasp for air, and found Polaris sitting next to me.
"Easy," he cautioned.
"Where is he?" I asked worriedly. "Gods... was I too late?"
"Calm down, and lay back."
"I'll calm down when I know that he's okay! Where is he, Polaris?!"
Polaris smiled. "Your boyfriend is okay, now will you please lay back down?"
But I ignored my familiar and got out of bed. I rushed to the main living area, thinking he'd be there; I needed to see him. I needed to hold him, and I needed to be close to him after nearly losing him. I entered the living area and found Cyris sitting on the couch with a book. I went over to him, and took the book out of his hands. I set it on the table before straddling his lap and looking into his eyes.
"Are you okay?" I asked desperately.
"Well, hello to you too, Vasia," he chuckled softly.
"Yeah she wouldn't stay in bed," Polaris frowned as he stood in my bedroom doorway.
"Shut up, Polaris," I growled, before turning back to Cyris. "Answer the question please... are you okay?"
Cyris sighed, "Yes baby, I'm okay." He gazed into my eyes deeply, and my heart stuttered. "Are you okay?"
Tears of relief welled up in my eyes as I nodded and I started kissing him. I kissed his cheeks, his lips, his nose... any part of him that I could reach at the moment really.
"Do you have any idea how terrified I was?" I whispered between kisses. "You almost died!"
"Yes, Rosanna," he managed to say. "I was terrified too... terrified that I'd never get to see you again."
