Piarari Key
Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The castle was so majestic, I was awestruck. It was made of alabaster, and there were pale blue and silver banners with the Riofaltan crest hanging on the walls. The gates looked imposing with their golden trimmed doors, and they were chained shut... How were we going to get inside?
"The gates are chained. What now?" I asked openly.
"Aren't you dating an ice-magic user?" Kian retorted. "And with two of them, well, watch and learn."
Kian placed one of his hands on the thick chain, then gestured for Rosanna to follow his lead. She placed her hand on the other side of the chain and watched Kian closely. His eyes glowed pale blue, almost white, and the chain started freezing. Rosanna let her power flood through her and her eyes lit up, changing to her famous icy blue color. The chain started hissing and smoking from the ice they were creating over it. Kian let go, and so did Rosanna.
"Voila!" he smiled proudly. He backed up and then emitted a strong wave of energy. The force broke the chain and the old gates swung open.
We entered the front yard and found a circular driveway. There was a large fountain in the centre with rose bushes surrounding it. As we approached the door, I noticed the ornate falcon door knocker on it. Rosanna opened the doors and we entered a gorgeous foyer. The walls were made of white marble and there was a grand staircase ahead of us. Tall, white marble pillars lined the room, and there were windows on either side of the room that were covered by golden curtains. A golden carpet runner extended from the front door to the base of the stairs and a crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling.
"This castle...it's breathtaking!" I murmured.
"Isn't it?" Arissa smiled.
"Wow..." Rosanna breathed.
We all just took a few moments to take in the grand foyer. Kian's eyes looked haunted and I assumed it was hard for him to be in this place right now. I understood how he felt. I heard Rosanna sigh so I turned to her and found her shaking just a little.
"Rose..." I wanted to comfort her, but I was at a loss for words.
"I'm fine, Cyris," she assured me. "I just...being here is kind of...overwhelming."
I grabbed her hand and held it tightly.
"Let's keep moving," Kian said suddenly. His voice was thick with sorrow.
Rosanna nodded and I wrapped my arms around her before we started moving. We stayed quiet for a while as we walked through the rest of the castle. Kian and Felix took turns giving explanations for each part of the castle, telling us what the rooms were used for or who they belonged to. When we came across the library, it caught Rosanna's attention instantly, and she let go of me to explore.
"Come on Cyris!" she called out as she took off. I rushed after her as did Kian, Arissa, and Felix. After we caught up to her she spoke again. "Felix, my mother was a master spell caster, right? Did she keep potion logs or have a laboratory?"
"Yes she was and she had lunar and solar magic as well. I'm sure she did have personal log books, but I'm sorry Princess, I don't know where she would have kept such things," Felix replied.
"But I do," Kian chimed in.
Rosanna's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Show us!" she insisted.
Kian smiled and looked around on one of the bookshelves that sat against the far wall. He pulled a black book off the shelf and the whole bookshelf moved, sliding open like a door.
