Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
It had been two weeks since Rosanna and I had our date, and I really wanted to make up for the gift she gave me. I just couldn't come up with something I felt was good enough. And so I was currently sitting in the living area of the apartment, bouncing gift ideas off Farryn.
"She bought me a necklace, so I don't want to get her the same thing. I want to be original," I told her.
"I get that you like her, but I still don't think you should get too involved with her," Farryn told me. "I'll support you, but Cyris, you're getting too close to her."
I winced at those words, too close. I hadn't told Farryn that Rosanna and I were way beyond "too close" at this point.
"What do my feelings for her have to do with me returning a gesture?" I snorted.
Farryn rolled her eyes. "I'm not stupid Cyris. I can see the engraving on the back of that necklace and you probably haven't taken it off since you got it. Am I wrong?"
Farryn and her stupid x-ray vision. I bit my lip anxiously, "So what if I haven't taken it off? Is that a problem?"
"Are you going to stop insulting our bond by beating around the bush or do I really need to drag the truth out of you? Just how close have you gotten to her?"
I averted my eyes from hers, "You're right. I like her, I really like her." I peeked up at Farryn, I'm sure she could see the remorse in my eyes.
"Liking her is fine, but Cyris... Why can I sense her aura lingering around yours?" Farryn asked.
Farryn was going to be pissed, but I couldn't keep it from her any longer. I tucked my hair behind both of my ears as I took in a deep breath.
"Rosanna and I slept together," I blurted, "Like... had sex, kind-of-slept-together..."
"Cyris, you were only supposed to train her for battle! Not get down with her between the sheets!" Farryn scolded. She folded her arms across her chest and scowled. "I told you this wouldn't end well! Now you have to tell her the truth!"
"Farryn, are you insane?! If I told her I was only using her, it would ruin everything!" I snapped back.
"Using me?" Rosanna gasped. Farryn and I froze at the sound of her voice. "What the hell does that mean?!" Rosanna exclaimed. I whirled around to find my beloved Vasia standing there, anger clearly boiling inside of her. The temperature of the room dropped instantly, and ice started to form on the walls.
"Vasia, I swear it's not what it seems—"
"Don't call me that! You don't have the right to call me that anymore!"
"Rosanna, just let me explain please... Yes, originally I only wanted to train you so I could draw from your power during battles, but—"
"So I was just some kind of magic battery to you?!"
"Everything changed! I fell in love with you—"
I felt a stinging sensation on my cheek, and after taking a moment to process, I realized that Rosanna had slapped me. Farryn growled and started to approach Rosanna, but I held up my hand and that stopped Farryn in her tracks.
"Okay, I deserved that..." I admitted.
"You! You—You selfish, arrogant—! Get out!"
"What? Baby, wait—"
