Once Rosanna and I entered the apartment, I knew something was wrong. She hadn't spoken to me on the way here, and she looked tense.

"Do you want some tea?" I asked, wanting to help her relax.

"Why don't you go ask that bartender?" she scoffed. "I'm sure she'd love for you to make her some tea after she takes you to bed."

I froze and turned to look at her, noticing how annoyed she seemed. The bartender? THAT was her problem? I chuckled to myself softly.

"What's so funny?!" she snapped.

"Are you really jealous right now?" I asked.

"Jealous! Of course not, I just felt like there was no need for any flirting!"

"Why would that bartender matter?" I asked.

"Well you certainly seemed into her," she growled.

I stood face-to-face with Rosanna. She folded her arms over her chest, and averted her eyes away from me, but I gently put my fingers to her chin, and forced her to look at me. Our gazes met, and my knees got weak; my heart was pounding. Those green eyes...

"Vasia, never doubt how I feel about you. I only want you..." I breathed.

She blushed deeply, and wrapped her arms around me. I embraced her, then kissed the top of her head, and kissed her cheek. Having her in my arms was my safe haven. I let her go briefly to grab the stereo remote from the coffee table. I pressed a button, and soft, slow music began to play.

"Dance with me?" I asked and offered her my hand.

She nodded and took it. I rested a hand on her waist and held one of her hands with the other. She placed her free hand on my shoulder. This dance was vastly different from our first one in that I wasn't so hesitant about having her so close anymore. I pulled her body to mine, and held her as we moved to the slow beat of the song.

"You kept her number," Rosanna whispered in a hurt voice.

I shook my head, "I tossed it in a garbage bin the second I was outside of the club." I moved my hand from her waist to her lower back. "No one compares to you, Vasia."

We swayed to the music in silence, and after a few moments, I felt compelled to explain myself. To explain to Rosanna how much she meant to me, how much I respected her, and her body. No female had ever made me feel the way she made me feel...

"Rose..." I murmured.

"Yes, Cyris?"

"I really want you to understand where your place is in my life. I didn't realize it until I met you, but I was lost, in the darkness, fighting my way to peace. I never expected to meet someone like you... someone who could be the light in my darkness, but now that I have you, I would never jeopardize what we have for anyone else."

She rested her head on my chest and nodded. "I understand... you've made me feel things that I honestly didn't think I'd ever feel... For the longest time, I only ever knew fear and pain," she admitted. "You weren't the only one seeking peace... I was too. And now I have someone to be my sunrise...to be my moon and stars... someone who can bring me hope and make me smile."
