Raxo (racks-oh): love
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I woke up the next morning feeling amazing! I was immediately greeted by the scent of the man I loved so much, and I breathed him in deeply. I sat up in bed, then blinked the sleepy haze from my eyes. I looked around the unfamiliar room and realized we fell asleep in the guest bedroom last night. But I definitely didn't mind, and I smirked to myself as I gazed at Cyris. He groaned as he opened his eyes.
“Morning, raxo,” he greeted me. “Happy Birthday!”
“Morning, my love, and thank you,” I replied. He smiled and kissed my lips softly.
“It still sucks I can’t throw you a party…” he frowned.
“There’ll be other opportunities for that,” I assured him. “Besides, I’m happy celebrating my birthday quietly with my family.”
At those words a big grin spread across Cyris’s face. “Should we see if the others are awake?” he asked.
“Probably a good idea, but we should head back to our room and get ready first,” I replied. We’d slept in a guest room last night and our things weren’t here, so we’d have to sneak back to our room to get ready. I just hoped no one caught us.
He looked around. “You’re right. We should go back to our room first.”
We got out of bed and slipped on our clothes from last night before sneaking out into the hall. We managed to make it to our room without being seen and got ready for the day. Then we headed to the library, where we found Kian and Arissa curled up on the couch by the fireplace. Arissa’s hypersensitivity was no joke, I could have sworn we entered the room quietly, yet she perked up and greeted us with a bright smile.
“Happy Birthday, Rosanna!” she cheered.
I smiled back at her. “Thanks Arissa,” I told her as the two of us hugged.
Kian got up from the couch and approached me. He wrapped his arms around me, and squeezed me until I couldn’t breathe.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY, little sister!” he exclaimed.
“Thanks Kian…” I replied. “Take it easy though…I’m still recovering a bit.”
“Oh! Right, so sorry,” he let me go and kissed the top of my head. “I’m just so happy I finally get to spend time with my little sister on her birthday.”
“I’m happy too, Kian,” I assured him. “What are we doing today?”
Kian glanced at Arissa and they exchanged smiles, then Kian turned back to me. “It’s not much, but I thought it would be cool to look through some old family albums to start off the day,” Kian explained.
My eyes lit up and I nodded eagerly. “I’d like that,” I replied.
Kian grinned and took off, leaving the library for a few minutes before coming back. He had three thick album books in his arms, and he laid them on one of the tables that still remained. Unfortunately there were only three chairs, so I ended up on Cyris’ lap. Of course I didn’t mind that though. Cyris wrapped his arm around me and kissed my cheek. I sighed in contentment.
I grabbed one of the albums and started flipping through it, stopping on a photo of a little boy staring intently at a cake with a single lit candle on top. The brown hair and striking green eyes told me who it was and I couldn’t help but smile.
