Piarari Key

Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I entered the apartment the next night exhausted from my shift at work. I sat down on the couch and moved to take off my heeled boots, my feet were killing me, but a set of hands beat me to it.

"Allow me," Cyris told me as he unzipped my boots and removed them. My feet felt a bit better, but what was he doing up?

"Thank you," I told him. "What are you doing up though?"

"Waiting for you. Do you want to shower?" he asked.

I shook my head, rubbing my shoulder. "Maybe, but in a bit. I'm a bit exhausted."

Cyris sat down next to me and placed my feet in his lap. He started massaging them, and it felt amazing! His strong hands were gentle as he rubbed the soreness from my feet.

"Can I make you something to eat, Vasia?"

"That's really sweet of you," I told him. "Yes please."

Cyris massaged my feet a bit more, then got up and went into the kitchen. He returned a short time later with a bowl of fettuccine noodles and mushrooms in a cream sauce. He handed it to me along with a fork.

"You know me so well. Where did you learn to make this?" I asked. I'd never shown him how to cook this dish, so how did he know how to make my favourite?

"I'm observant," he smiled. "Does it taste alright? I'm sure yours is much better."

I took a bite and closed my eyes, savouring the flavours. It was even better than mine!

"It's perfect," I assured him.

"Really? Great!" He went back to the kitchen, and returned with his own bowl and fork.

We sat together, ate our food gingerly, and chatted about my shift at work as well. At some point during our conversation, my shoulders started hurting again and I must have started rubbing them without even realizing it. Cyris must have noticed too based on what he said next.

"Your shoulders hurt?"

"Yeah, just a little," I admitted.

"Come here," he gestured for me to turn my back toward him. I did, and he began massaging my shoulders.

It was the perfect place, I laid my head against his chest as he rubbed my shoulders down. The feeling of his hands rubbing the ache away was oddly satisfying and I couldn't help but sigh in contentment.

"Thank you," I told him softly.

"You don't have to thank me, Vasia," Cyris whispered in my ear. His warm breath against my skin gave me chills.

The more he kept rubbing my shoulders, the more I relaxed into his arms.

"Will you tell me more about Espor?" I asked quietly. He stared at me in silence, and I felt like I'd crossed a line. I wanted to know more about my beloved Prince's homeland, but I didn't want to hurt him. I hope I hadn't caused him pain. "I'm sorry..." I bit my lip. "I shouldn't have—"

"No... It's fine," Cyris said and smiled sweetly. "What do you want to know?"

"I don't know... I guess... tell me about the castle or your family. I mean... I've only ever known life in a small town so... living in a castle sounds like something out of a fairytale..." I blushed and bit my lip.
