Piarari Key
Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I awoke to the sound of the shower running. I looked around and found no sign of Cyris, so it must have been him in the shower. It was still really early. I noticed that he snuck back to bed earlier this morning, but I pretended to be asleep. He was acting so strange recently, and I couldn't figure out why.
I slipped into the bathroom and removed my clothes before getting into the shower and wrapping my arms around him from behind.
"Mm, morning, Vasia," he greeted me.
"Morning, my love," I greeted him, a bit concerned, "Is everything okay?"
He hesitated, "Of course... Why do you ask?"
I bit my lip. "You haven't been sleeping well lately," I noted. I'd noticed the dark circles under his eyes. "Is something wrong?"
Cyris tensed and put both of his hands against the wall in front of us. "Nothing's wrong, Rosanna..."
I bit my lip again, he hardly ever called me that. "I...I get it...you're still mad at me for keeping this from you... I'll just...I'll just go..." I stated as I turned to get out of the shower. That's probably what it was. He was mad at me for keeping our baby a secret.
He turned around and stopped me by gently grabbing my arm. "No, it's not that!" he expressed. He pulled me closer, and kissed my forehead. "I'm not mad at you... I guess I just..." he bit his lip. "I have a lot on my mind and it keeps me awake..."
"You can talk to me you know..." I assured him, relieved that he wasn't mad at me "You don't have to put up walls around me."
"Let's just enjoy this..."
Cyris decided to pamper me in the shower. He washed my body and my hair for me, but I wasn't in the mood for pampering. Not when he was clearly losing sleep over something.
"Cyris...baby...please...just talk to me...you've been stonewalling me for a couple days now..."
"Okay...how about after dinner we'll talk?" he offered.
"Why is now a bad time?" I asked. "I just...I'm worried about you...you've been screaming in your sleep and you wake up with this look of terror in your eyes... I hate seeing you like this. Please...let me in so I can take some of the pain away..."
"Rose..." he turned off the shower and got out.
He grabbed two towels, and wrapped one around me before wrapping one around himself.
"Do I wake you up at night?" he grimaced.
"You do, but that's not the point, Cyris." He was missing the point. I didn't care if I was woken up at night. I cared about him and his well-being.
"I'll move to the next room down the hall."
"What?!" I exclaimed. "Why?!"
"Because baby, we both don't need to be drained of sleep. Especially not you," he scolded softly. Cyris helped me out of the tub as we continued to talk.
"Cyris... You know I can't sleep without you next to me," I stated. "Why are you acting like this...?! Gods...did I screw up that badly?" Had I truly messed things up between us? Why was he pulling away from me?
He brushed his fingers against my cheek then kissed me deeply. "I'm not stonewalling you. I care about your health too, y'a know," he replied.
"I know, but I care about you too...why won't you tell me what's wrong?"
