It had been two days since Kian and Arissa had arrived, which meant that today was the day for the baby shower. All this time, I actually hadn't seen the full set up of the ballroom. I knew that Sidra probably went overboard, I just hadn't seen it with my own eyes yet.
And I wouldn't be seeing it for at least a couple more hours. Cyris and I were currently out in the gardens. We were already dressed for the baby shower and the sun was starting to set. Sidra had thought it'd be a great idea for us to have a photo shoot. So there I stood, resting my hands on my stomach with my back against Cyris' chest. His arms were around me and his hands were resting on mine. The photographer's camera flashed as he took photos. I smiled down at my stomach and Cyris kissed my temple. Once we finished the photoshoot, it was time for the shower. Cyris took my hand and we went inside.
We immediately entered the ballroom after being announced and I took in the sight before me. The ballroom was covered in balloons. Balloons that ranged from normal size, to balloons as big as me, and I noticed different sized balloon animals as well. All of the balloons were in different shades of blue, or they were silver. Two intricate garlands hung between the main arches, where the entrance to the ballroom was. The garlands themselves were made out of iridescent paper that shone when the light hit it, and they read as: Congratulations! It's a boy!
There was a table of cupcakes, salad, and other snacks sitting straight ahead. But what really caught my eye was the massive board in between the pillars on the left side of the room. The board was covered with baby photos of me, ones I'd seen in photo albums in Riofalt. Alongside the photos of me were numerous baby photos of Cyris. I cracked a smile at how adorable my husband looked as an infant. Our son was going to be just as adorable as he was.
There were a couple of chairs on the opposite side of the room where Cyris and I could sit and guests could take photos with us if they wished. And the two of us sat down and Sidra came over to us.
"So what do you think?" she asked.
"It's amazing," I told her. "Thank you."
"You are more than welcome. My nephew deserves grand attention, don't you think?" Sidra asked.
I smiled in response. And Ren appeared with a big smile on his face. He leaned down and kissed my cheek.
"Ren, it's good to see you," I told him.
"Likewise. You look incredible, my dear cousin," Ren stated before turning to Sidra. "Is it too early for gifts?"
"Yes, it's too early. We just started," Cyris told him, answering instead. "How long do Rosanna and I have to stay up here anyway?"
"I find this kind of relaxing if I'm being honest," I admitted. "It's nice to just sit down and get off my feet for a while."
Cyris rolled his eyes and smiled. "Yes, love. But how long do I have to be up here?" Cyris quizzed.
Sidra shook her head and frowned. "Cyris! Why are you so difficult?!" she exclaimed.
Ren and Cyris laughed.
