Maira's POV

Finally, after a long wait, we are going back to the Philippines! I'm so excited to see and to be with my friends. It is 2 in the morning here in New York and mommy and I decided to travel now so we can arrive there at 7 in the morning. Because the total flight duration from New York, to the Philippines, is approximately 18 hours.

I took a final glance at myself in the mirror. I can say that I changed a lot this time, you can clearly see that I seldom speak in Tagalog, I don't why but I think I was influenced by the people that I am surrounded by. In school, my classmates and my teachers are speaking in English, straight. Even if I am just in the mall with mommy, all I hear is the English language. So how come that I wouldn't adopt such a thing?

Even in the taste of their fashion, I'm influenced. Before I used to wear loose shirts, blouses, and other tops, even my bottoms are loose and always too long. That's the reason why they're calling me 'manang', matandang dalaga', and any other insults that I don't really care about. Well, I already change my taste in fashion. From loose and long clothes now I always wear trendy clothes, I've always updated to the latest trends about fashion no wonder I was honored 'Miss Trendy' at my school here in New York.

And because of that, I encounter too much problem with boys, ugh! They always annoy me to let them court, flirt with me which I hated a lot. I didn't show interest to them, because I don't have an interest in that stupid relationship anymore. It will just distract me from studying, and it's just a torture in life. From sweet conversations, movements, and any sweet kinds of stuff couples do, it will end just into heartbreaks, after boys got all they want from girls they will just leave and dump them as trash. I'm not ruining men's reputations, I'm just stating facts. I'm not saying that all boys are the same, but I don't know maybe some of them are still gentlemen like girls dream about. I don't want to judge them because I don't they're point of view.

"Maira, let's go na?" mommy suddenly said so I came back to my senses.

"Yes, mommy" I answered back.

One last look from the mirror and I leave my room here at our house in New York. We will still visit this house if we have enough time. I'm surely gonna miss this room, and of course this house. And finally, I'm gonna miss my tita lola, mommy's tita here in New York. She's so kind to me and to mommy. She became my greatest grandmother in my life. I'm sure that she'll miss us too.

"Tita we're gonna go na po" mommy said to tita lola.

"Stay safe, Shaina and Maira. I'm gonna miss you" tita lola replied.

"I'm gonna miss you too tita lola. Goodbye" I bid goodbye to her and we left our house here.

I am asleep when somebody shakes my body slightly.

"Maira wake up na, we're here na" a voice I heard while someone's moving me slowly.

I opened my eyes and I slightly adjust it from the light I'm seeing. And then I realized that Mommy is waking me up.

"Anak, I'm glad that you're awake na. 3 minutes na lang daw and we can get out na" she said while smiling.

"Oh okay" I replied still kinda sleepy.

"Hahaha, antukin" mom teased me and she even messed up my hair.

"Mommy naman!!!!" I complained.

She just laughed, teasingly.

After a few more minutes we get off the plane. Excitement suddenly appears on my system, I'm now smiling widely while we're walking through the airport. Yes! Finally, we arrived safely in the Philippines.
