"CLEAR!" I heard someone yell. All of a sudden, my head was hurting and it was all cloudy again. No more sun. What? No! I was having the time of my life! Where did it all go?! My eyes were blurry for a second until they adjusted and I could see many people around me, all guys. But none of them I knew. I was confused. There were noises going on and my head was pounding. Somebody yelled, "Get her to the hospital! Fast!" I felt myself being lifted onto something. I couldn't feel my left leg though. I was worried. I looked down at my feet and saw red on my shoes. Like, red blood. Then I looked at my shirt and saw blood there too. I looked around and tried to find Calum and the guys. I didn't see anyone I knew. I was brought onto a truck it looked like. I soon realized that I was being lifted onto an ambulance and driven to a hospital. As we were driving, a man was beside me as he shoved 4 fingers in my face. "How many fingers am I holding up, sweetie?" I pushed them out of my face and said, "4, now get your hands out of my face! Where's Calum?" The guy replied, "Who's Calum?" I then told him who he was and he replied, "I'm not sure. You were the only one hit."

Nicole: Hit? What do you mean 'hit'?

Guy: Do you remember anything that happened?

Nicole: No. What happened? Did something happen?

Guy: Well I'm afraid you were hit by a car, sweetie.

Nicole: WHAT?!

Guy: Don't worry. You're going to be okay. Just stay calm.

Nicole: NO, I'M NOT GOING TO STAY CALM! I JUST GOT HIT BY A CAR FOR GOD SAKES! I WANT CALUM!

Guy: Just calm down, honey. This is your adrenaline talking. Just take a deep breath in and out. I'm going to give you a shot but you need to stay completely still.

Nicole: Ugh. Just do it already. Then can I see Calum?

Guy: I'm afraid I have no authority over you seeing your brother again. I'm sorry. Now 1... 2... 3. *Gives Nicole shot* There we go.

Nicole: Ouch. That actually hurt.

Guy: Don't worry. You'll be at a hospital soon. Now do you feel any pain anywhere?

Nicole: Only in my arm WHERE YOU SHOT IT!

Guy: Nicole, focus. I can't help you if you won't help me. Now do you feel any pain anywhere?

Nicole: *sighs* My head hurts and my back hurts and, uh, I can't feel my leg.

Guy: Well you're very brave for not crying. Most kids I know would be screaming their heads off.

Nicole: Well I'm not doing that because I'm not a kid.

Guy: You're right. And I think we really have to focus on your leg right now. It may be broken.

Nicole: Ugh.

Guy: Yeah. Ugh.

Nicole: When will we get to the hospital?

Guy: We just got here.

Nicole: FINALLY!

I felt myself being lifted out of the back and into the hospital. I was put into a room and a couple of doctors hurried to me fast. They checked out my leg. Worst case scenario. It gets cut off. Thats always been my bigger fear. Losing a limb. The doctors were hurrying and rushing and yelled and moving everywhere but when the looked at my leg, they all stopped. It was a dead silent moment. Then they looked at me. I said, "What?" I saw a nurse take off her mask and smile. "Sweetie, I have no idea how but... you've healed a full recovery from a broken leg. It's -- It's a miracle," she said clearly in shock. They all took off their masks and were all smiling. Another doctor said, "How is this even possible? Her leg was apparently severely damaged and now it's -- it's just healed?" The nurse replied, "Yes." It was silent again. I honestly felt like I was in a soap opera here. Ughhhh. One of the doctors ran out saying, "I'm gonna be the messenger!" The messenger is the one to tell everyone about the recovery or the incident. Normally doctors don't 'call' doing it. They normally do ghost town or they put their fingers on their noses and the last one to do it has to tell everyone. Or they do Rock Paper Scissors. OOH! Or they flip a coin. Anyway, another doctor asked me, "So is it your head and back that's hurting?" I replied, "Yeah," with a nod.

Nurse: Well I'll take a look at your head first. *walks over to Nicole* Well it looks like you may need a few stitches around the eyebrow but other than that you're good. Now where around your back is hurting?

Nicole: The middle.

Nurse: Well the middle normally means you have a bruise there. It's actually quite simple. Sharp pains in the area near the neck means you have an injury in your neck, the middle means you have a serious bruise, and the lower back means its in the tailbone. If your stomach hurts, you have most likely broke some ribs in the ribcage.

Nicole: Wow. Interesting. Hey, do you know where my friends are?

Nurse: I believe they were told to go home.

Nicole: What? Why weren't they allowed to be in the waiting room?

Nurse: It's because of fans and autographs and screaming. We knew they wouldn't do it to you because you're hurt. But if you weren't, you'd probably have to go home too.

Nicole: True. Who's going to drive me home?

Nurse: A police officer. We were thinking you'd be here for longer but now that we know that you're really healthy, you may go home today.

Nicole: What time is it?

Nurse: *checks watch* Around 2:30.

Nicole: Soooo all you really have to do is put stitches on my head and then I can go home?

Nurse: Pretty much, yeah.

Nicole: How long does the stitching take?

Nurse: Not long. Only about 15-20 minutes.

Nicole: Okay. Wait, is it going to hurt at all?

Nurse: Well I'm going to put some numbing cream on your eyebrow so you don't feel a thing. Then I'm going to prescribe you some medication for your back pain and head. Sound good?

Nicole: Yep.

Nurse: Great. Let's get started. You just have to stay completely still.

Nicole: Oh, I'm a master at that.

Nurse: *laughs* Thats good.

Then the nurse got a cream and gently put it on my eyebrow. After that, she got a needle and some thread as se started to pick at my eyebrow. Of course, I didn't feel a thing, but I was still a but intimidated by the needle. After 15 minutes of that, she put a patch on it and it was all good. "Great! It's all done. Now I'll just give you the medication... *gives medication* and you'll be all ready to go!

Nicole: Yes! Now I can see Calum and the guys!

Nurse: Thats good news. I'm going to go call a police officer to come get you.

Nicole: Okay.

The nurse walked out of the room and 5 minutes later, a nice/good looking police officer came into the room and said, "You ready to go, sweetie?" I nodded and went with him to the car. It was a 10 minute drive to get back home but it felt like an hour. I couldn't wait to see the guys again. As I pulled up in the driveway, I saw Calum run out of the house and to me. I came out of the cop car quickly and we ran to each other and hugged. "OH, NICOLE!!! I'M SO SORRY THIS HAPPENED TO YOU!!! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!?! OH, I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" He yelled. I laughed and replied, "I'm okay, Cal. I missed you too." I gave him the medication bottle and explained everything. Soon enough, everybody else came running out and hugged me. I hugged them back. "OH, WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH, NICOLE!" Ross said. They were laughing and sighing of relief. I was so happy to be back home. Now I know that it's best to be alive even if being dead can be a bit easier. But I know that my death, could affect other people's lives too. Today I learned a very valuable lesson... DON'T STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE YOU'RE BORED, YOU IGNORANT CLUTZ!
