THE NEXT DAY

I woke up and instantly remembered last night for some reason. I remember yelling at Luke, Ash, and Calum because they were annoying me and me yelling at them. Then I remember going to Jessica's house and coming back and seeing a note from Calum with $50 attached to it. Man, what a day. I got up, took a shower, changed my clothes, brushed my teeth and pretty much did everything I had to. I went downstairs for breakfast and saw everyone there. That doesn't usually happen. "Good morning. Did you have a nice sleep?" Ashton asked me nicely as he saw me walk into the kitchen. I responded nicely back by saying, "Yes, I did, thank you very much." Luke had made me some eggs and I ate them. It seemed to have been as if the guys forgot all about last night, as if it never even happened. Whatever. This is better than what I expected. But then Luke seemed to have said something about it and it was pretty straight forward. "Listen, Nicole. We're really sorry for getting you mad yesterday. I guess we took this prank war a little too seriously. What do you say? Can we end this thing?" I smiled and said, "We sure can." They all cheered as if I had just given them a piece of information that changed their lives. But... I guess I did. Anyway, I finished my food and went to the living room to watch some TV. I was watching The Wahlburgs when Calum came into the room. He sat down with me and said, "Ooh! I love this show!" I laughed and continued watching. When the show finished and it was commercial, Calum started talking about school to me.

Calum: So are you nervous about school starting again?

Nicole: No, why?

Calum: Well because its school. Aren't you worried about your friends? You know, Nicole, sometimes when a new school year starts, old friends become not friends at all and new kids at school become new friends and soon enough, you'll be abandoning your old friends.

Nicole: No, no, no. Nothing could separate Bernie or Jessica from me.

Calum: Well if you ask me, I think you're closer to Jessica than you are to Bernie. Maybe you'll still be friends with Jessica but maybe not Bernie.

Nicole: Well guess what, Calum?

Calum: What?

Nicole: Nobody asked you.

Then I stood up and walked up to my room. Calum should not be all up in my life like that. They're my friends and he doesn't know what's gonna happen. But maybe he is right. Jessica is closer to me than Bernie. In fact, I barely text Bernie anymore. But who cares? Jessica will always be my friend no matter what!!!!! Just then, Ashton came into my room and said, "Nicole? Did something just happen between you and Calum downstairs? I heard you yell."

Nicole: I yelled?

Luke: Well, yeah. I heard you yell 'Nobody asked you!'

Nicole: Oh, my god. I can't believe I just yelled at Calum.

Luke: What were you yelling about?

Nicole: Well he was talking to me about how I was going to lose my friends.

Luke: Lose your friends? How did that topic come up?

Nicole: I don't know. Calum just asked me if I was nervous about going back to school?

Luke: Well, are you?

Nicole: A little.

Luke: It's gonna be okay, Nicole. You have absolutely nothing to worry about because you just have to remember that whenever you come back from school every day, we'll always be there for you to talk to.

Nicole: I know.

Luke: Good. Now you wanna come help me with the laundry?

Nicole: (sarcasm) I totally would like to help you with the laundry.
