Chapter 59

To make sure I stayed up and didn't fall asleep, I drank a couple of sodas when the guys left the kitchen. After that, I felt wide awake. I watched some TV until it was 10:00. Ashton came downstairs and said, "Hey, Nicole, I thought you'd be in bed by now." I shook my head and said, "Mm, no, thanks."

Ashton: (raises eyebrows) Excuse me? Its 10:00, missy. Bed time.

Nicole: But I don't wanna go to sleep.

Ashton: Ooh, that's too bad. Go anyway.

Nicole: No.

Ashton: Nicole, you will go upstairs to bed now or else I will drag you up there.

(Calum and Luke comes down)

Calum: Hey, what's all the commotion?

Ashton: Little-miss-sassy-pants won't go to bed.

Luke: Come on, Nicole. It's 10:00.

Nicole: I'm not sleepy.

Calum: Nicole, bed now please.

Nicole: No.

Calum: Nicole!

Nicole: No.

Luke: We've got a little rebel on our hands now, boys.

Ashton: Well, what are we supposed to do?

Calum: I don't know. Get mad? I'm new to this.

Luke: Nicole, I'm going to count to 3 and you better be on your way to bed.

Nicole: Or else what?

Calum: You'll have a timeout.

(Everyone stares at Calum)

Calum: What? I told you, I'm new to this!

Ashton: Nicole, whats gotten into you? Why are you suddenly like this?

Luke: Ashton, she's growing up, of course. This is what kids do.

Calum: Oh, I know what to do! Nicole, you make your way up to bed or we will start taking privileges away.

Nicole: And what's that supposed to mean to me?

Calum: It means we will start taking stuff away from you.

Nicole: Ha, what are you going to take away from me?

Ashton: Uh, um, your, uh, iPod!

Luke: Yeah, your iPod.

Nicole: You can't do that!

Calum: Then you go to bed right now, young lady!

Nicole: (grunts) Whatever.

Then I stomped up to my room and closed the door. Well, now I know how they would react. Wow, I am a pretty good actress, aren't I? That went well. The thing is, I'm actually not sleepy. I guess I should've thought that whole 2 bottles of pop thing out. What am I going to do? What time is it? It's now 10:12. Maybe I'll play with Cocoa for a bit. (A/N Just so you know, I know I haven't been mentioning that Nicole has been walking or feeding Cocoa but she has.) I played with Cocoa for an hour and still wasn't tired. But Cocoa sure was. I fed her and she went out like a light. Now what? I need something to do. Maybe I can sneak downstairs to get a warm glass of milk. That'll make me sleepy. I slowly opened my door and tip toed down the steps. I quietly walked into the kitchen and turned the lights on. I opened the fridge and saw the milk but just as I was about to grab it, I heard somebody behind me say, "And what are you doing awake?" I turned around slowly to see Calum shirtless. I didn't mind really. I widened my eyes and he said, "We told you to go to sleep, Nicole." I was about to tell him that I was getting a warm glass of milk but he interrupted me and said, "Bed! Now!" His arms were crossed and he had pointed outside the kitchen angrily. I sighed and went to my room. So that didn't work. What now? Maybe I'll wait for Calum to be gone for a minute and then I'll go back downstairs to grab a snack. I waited a minute and did the same procedure as last time. I was about get some cookies until I heard behind me, "Nicole! Not again!" But I was the one thinking, not again. It was Calum. I looked at him and he said, "Come on, Nicole. You know better than this. One more time, and privileges will be taken away. Go to bed now!" I sighed and went to my room. I closed my door and decided to give up. Besides, I don't want to lose my iPod or any other privileges. I stayed up until 1:30 before going to sleep.
