Chapter 184

After cleaning, I sat on the couch and waited for Matthew. I wonder if I can call him my boyfriend? I mean, he did ask me out. Its not like we're just friends. I was so desperate for Matt to come. It felt like HOURS but I knew that it was only because I was thinking about it too much. The TV was on but to be honest, I was barely watching it. All of a sudden, I heard a knock on the door and I stood up. Everybody else was upstairs. I quickly straightened my clothes and fixed my hair. I made sure I had good posture and I cleared my throat. Then I walked over to the door and opened it to see Matthew standing there with flowers in his hands. Wow! He got me flowers?! I'm stunned. He smiled his award winning smile and said, "Hey, Nicole." I smiled back and said, "Hey, Matthew! Come in." Matthew stepped foot in the house and said, "These are for you," as he handed me the bouquet of flowers. They were pink roses and I was in love. I mean with the roses! Not with Matthew! Well I like Matthew but... oh, never mind. I took the flowers and said, "Oh, my god. They're beautiful. Thank you, Matt." He replied, "No problem."

Ashton's POV

I had heard a knock on the door and went downstairs to see who it was. It must be that kid Calum was telling about me about. Matthew I think? Anyway, as I was coming down the stairs, I saw Nicole with a guy who looked about her age. I guess she answered the door already. And to be honest, this kid was pretty good looking. I can see why Nicole would like him. I saw the kid hand a bouquet of pink roses to Nicole and I thought, aww, that's sweet. He seems nice already. Calum, Michael, and Luke must've not heard the door so I guess it was my responsibility to chaperone these kids and introduce myself to Matthew first. I walked over and said, "Hello there. You must be Matthew, right? I'm Ashton. Nice to meet you." I put my hand out for him to shake and he shook it.

Matt: Nice to meet you too.

Nicole: Matt, this is one of the guys I was talking about.

Matt: Hey, I've seen you somewhere before.

Ashton: Well I am part of a famous band.

Matt: Yeah, isn't it like... 5 Seconds Of Summer or something?

Nicole: Say what?

Ashton: Yeah, it is. It's awesome that you know it, man.

Matt: Well I'm a pretty big fan of music.

Ashton: Awesome, you play any instruments?

Matt: Yeah, I play a little guitar.

Ashton: That's amazing.

As Ashton and Matt talked, I was just listening. Since when was their band name '5 Seconds Of Summer'? How come I never knew that? Maybe they told me but I just forgot. Whatever. Ashton called Luke, Michael, and Calum down. Luke and Michael introduced themselves normally but when Calum came up, I got a bit worried. Uh oh. What's he gonna say? Is he gonna embarrass me? He looked serious. Oh, please no. This is exactly what I was worried about. I tilted my head down ready for the embarrassment to hit me. As Calum opened his mouth to say something, I thought to myself, why does my life hate me? And all of a sudden, the words that came out of Calum's mouth were, "Sup, I'm Calum. Nice to meet you." I widened my eyes in shock as my head shot up to look at him. Calum smiled at Matt and shook his hand. It wasn't embarrassment that hit me. It was confusion. Calum offered for Matt to sit down on the couches in the living room so he did and we talked.

Michael: So I see you two have, umm, grown the interest for each other.

Matt: Yep. 😊

Luke: So are you new at the school?

Matt: Yeah, I changed schools because I was uncomfortable in my old one. The people there weren't the kindest.

Nicole: *thinks* Oh, my gosh. So he was bullied in his old school? Wow. Poor guy.

We continued to talk and then I offered Matt if he'd like to go upstairs to see my room and he said sure. We went upstairs and chatted for a bit.

Luke's POV

Matt seems like a pretty cool guy. And he's good looking. No wonder Nicole likes him so much. I'm just hoping this won't be Nicole's first break up. Well I mean, Nicole has sort of already gone through break ups but those ones were a little too intense. I just hope this isn't Nicole's first normal break up. When they went up to Nicole's room, I got worried for a second. A boy and girl in a room alone? Not a great combination. I had this thought 10 seconds after they had gone up and I looked at Calum who seemed to have had the same thoughts as me. Calum said, "Somebody needs to go upstairs and chaperone those two."

Ashton: Not it!

Michael: Not it!

Calum: Not it!

Luke: Dang it!
