Chapter 64

When the police had gone, Calum had set me on the couch and laid me down. He pulled up my shirt and saw my terrible purple stomach. He said, "Luke, go get the first aid kit." Then Luke ran off. He came back and Ashton and Calum had help put bandages around my stomach. The bandage went all around my stomach and it was then clipped with a pin. They all put a bandage in the shape of an X on my hickey. They told me to get some rest so I did. I woke up again and it was 5:28. Wow, I slept for a long time. I saw all three guys by my side when I woke up, Calum saw me. "You're awake. How are you feeling?" He asked. I groaned and said, "It hurts." Calum sighed and Ashton had given me some medicine. It didn't really help. The TV was on for me to watch and I heard a knock on the door. I flinched. Ashton rubbed my belly to calm me down and he said, "Don't worry, princess. It's just 1D." I nodded. Luke answered the door and 1D came in. They all walked in and Harry said, "Hey, I heard something important happened. What is I--" All the guys looked at me and I was just watching the TV. They rushed to my side and Louis asked me, "Nicole! What the heck happened?!" I didn't say a word. I looked at Calum and Calum said, "Guys, come into the kitchen. I'll tell you everything." Then the guys followed Calum into the kitchen and I was just left with Ashton. Luke was upstairs dealing with some of it on the phone. Ashton then said to me, "Nicole? Can you please talk? I'm here for you. I just wanna hear your voice again." There was a long pause before I said, "Will he come back, Ash?" Ashton immediately responded, "Not as long as we're here." I stayed silent some more. I wanted to go to sleep again so I said, "I'm sleepy, Ashton." He responded, "I searched up online and it said that due to these injuries, you're gonna get really sleepy more often. So you can rest all you want. We'll take care of everything and 1D even offered to help. So you close your eyes, honey." I went to sleep again.

CALUM'S POV

One Direction had followed me into the kitchen and I had to explain everything that happened to Nicole.

Calum: Okay, so I called you guys over because something terrible has happened to Nicole and it involves Carson.

Louis: Not that bastard again!

Calum: I know, I know.

Niall: What did he do to her and how did he get to her? I thought he was behind bars.

Calum: I don't know how he got to her but all three of us had left in the morning to go to the studio so we left Nicole a note. Later, she called me and said she got this text from Carson saying he's out and coming to get her.

Zayn: Oh my god.

Calum: Then Nicole called me and I told her to call the police. At first she refused but eventually I got her to do it. But I guess Carson came earlier than the police and he had came inside and attacked Nicole.

Liam: The poor girl. How could he do this again?

Calum: He's a terrible person.

Harry: Did he attack her worse than last time?

Calum: (sighs) Scarred her worse.

Harry: (sighs) Why did she have a bandage on her neck and stomach?

Calum: He gave her a hickey on her neck and I don't know how her stomach was all purple.

Louis: Calum, we promise to help in any way we can.

Calum: Well the first thing is that we have to keep this to ourselves. I don't want the media getting to us.

Niall: Yeah, sure.

Calum: Great.

ONE MONTH LATER

I was in the living room playing Twister with Calum, Ash, and Luke. Luke was spinning the wheel. "Left hand on blue," he mentioned while laughing hysterically. Calum was above me and Ashton's leg was over Calum's head. We were laughing. I was pretty much holding Ashton and Calum up. I said, "I think I'm gonna collapse," while laughing. Then Calum said, "Nicole, if you go down," Ashton continued and they said in sync, "We all go down." I didn't move. Luke spun again and he said, "Right leg on yellow." That's exactly when Calum sneezed and we all toppled over. We were laughing so hard. Eventually we all got back up and Ashton said, "Oh, time for your medicine, Nicole." I groaned and I followed Ashton to the kitchen. Then he opened the cupboards and said, "Hey, Nicole? Do you think you're old enough for pills? The doctor said last month that if the liquid starts to wear off, pills are better. And last night, you were in a lot of pain, weren't you?" I responded, "Yeah, I think I can take pills." He said, "Great." Then he pulled out a bottle and taught me how to take the pills. After I did it, he cheered and said, "Yay! You just took your first pill!" I looked at him and said sarcastically, "Big whoop." He laughed. We both went into the living room and saw Calum and Luke laughing and talking.
