I turned to the first page of my book. But before that, I looked at the time because I need to know what time to what time I'm gonna be studying. It was 4:42 PM. How about I study 'till 5:30? That seems reasonable. Okay, so I looked at the Table Of Contents and saw what pages Math was on, Science, Geography, English, and Social Studies. I started with Math. I read the paragraph in the blue box at the top of the page. Halfway through, I yawned. After reading it, I started with the work. The work started out pretty easy. I didn't have any trouble at all. I had been doing the work for awhile. I thought, it feels like its been 20 minutes. I then looked at the time and saw it was 4:46. OH, HELL NO. I closed the book and put it back in my shelf. I am not gonna spend that much time on working, even if its productive work. I decided to go downstairs. Just as I was about to go I heard Ashton talking about me to Calum, Luke, and Michael. You see, my room is just near the stairs and our stairs have a balcony with a railing. So I could just walk out of my room and right in front of me would be the balcony and then to the right of it it would be the stairs. The left side of the balcony is the hallway to everyone else's rooms that curves. It's like a semi circular hallway. We have two staircases. The one against my room and the one against Michael's which is all the way across the living room so there are staircases on each side of the living room. No matter which staircase you go up, it leads to the hallway both ways that you can just walk across. (If you don't understand what I mean, try drawing it on a piece of paper. It helps. And if you still don't understand after that, talk to me). Anyway, enough of that. I creaked my door open to try to listen to what Ashton was saying to the guys.

Ash: ... And he said he's caught her multiple times cheating on tests.

Calum: But that doesn't sound like Nicole at all.

Luke: Maybe its the company she's hanging out with.

Ash: What, you mean like Jessica, Taylor, and Emma?

Luke: No, they went to high school, remember?

Ash: Oh, yeah.

Calum: So you mean like Matthew?

Luke: Well if that's who she's hanging out with, then yeah.

Ash: Well I asked Nicole how Matt's grades were and she said if she told me, we'd make her break up with him.

Michael: Well then I guess it's Matthew.

I had to say something. I just ran out my room, leaned against the balcony railing and said, "No. No, it's not Matthew." They all looked at me. Calum said, "Nicole, you were listening?" I replied, "Yeah. The whole thing. It's not the people I hang out with, guys. It's just the work." Ashton stood up and said kindly, "Well we just want you to do well in school. Promise us you'll try?" I nodded my head and said, "Promise." Just as I was about to go back to my room, I heard the phone ring. It wasn't Calum's phone. Or Michael's phone. Nor Ashton or Luke's. Just the home phone. I didn't really care though. I just instantly felt the urge to no longer go to my room but to go get something to eat. So I walked down the stairs and made my way to the kitchen. Calum had answered the phone and said, "Hello?" I was about to enter the kitchen until Calum called me. "Nicole, it's for you. It's Louis," he said as he gave the phone to me. I walked over to him and grabbed it. Why would Louis be calling me? What does he need me for? I instantly remembered the last time Louis and I talked on the phone. He told me that Matthew and I weren't going to last and I talked about Eleanor. That was a pretty big fight and I'm still mad at him for it.

Nicole: Hello?

Louis: Hey, Nicole. How are you, love?

Nicole: Fine. Why did you call me?

Louis: I called you to talk about Matthew.

Nicole: I'm gonna hang up now.

Louis: No, no. Don't worry. I wasn't going to say anything wrong.

Nicole: Of course you'd think that. But your opinions are always wrong.

Louis: No, my opinions are opinions but last time, my opinion went too far.

Nicole: I'm listening...

Louis: Nicole, I was wrong to judge you and Matthew's relationship and I should've kept my thoughts to myself. It wasn't my place to say anything. Seeing that you and Matt are still together today just made me realize how wrong I was. Can you forgive me?

Nicole: Well only if you can forgive me. I was wrong to bring up Eleanor. I know it must've been hard for you. What I said to you was even worse than what you said to me and I'm sorry.

Louis: I forgive you. Friends?

Nicole: Friends.
