Chapter 16

I would've thought everybody would've gone upstairs to their rooms to do their own stuff but instead they decided to stay with me. We were just standing in the living room making jokes and talking about stuff until the doorbell rang. "That's Jessica. Shoo," I said. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why do we have to shoo?" Ashton asked. I replied with, "Because I know you guys are just going to embarrass me. Now go." Then I gestured them to leave and they all did. I walked over to the door and opened it and there stood Jessica. I let her in and we sat down on the couch and started talking.

Nicole: So how's Carson?

Jessica: Good as ever. He sent me some really cute texts yesterday.

Nicole: Really? What did he say?

Jessica: He said stuff like 'I luv u' and 'I miss seeing ur face' and 'ur beautiful.'

Nicole: Aww, how nice.

And then danger came. All three things came downstairs with huge smirks on their faces. Ugh! I must've given them the idea of embarrassing me. I cupped my face into my hands. I lifted my face up and said, "What do you think you're doing here?" I was really annoyed. They had already entered the room and they looked like a whole bunch of happy kids that don't know what's going on.

Ashton: Well, Nicole, we just wanted to meet your little friend, Jeremy.

Nicole: Who's Jeremy?!? It's Jessica!!!

Jessica: Hi, nice to meet you. Nicole has told me so much about you.

Luke: Oh, has she now? I hope it's all good things.

Nicole: You wish.

Calum: Jeremiah, do you know our names?

Nicole: Jessica!!!!

Jessica: Um, is it Calum, Ashton, and Luke?

Luke: Hey, Ashton! She knows our names! How nice!

Ashton: Oh, yeah. Real nice.

Nicole: LEAVE! NOW!

Calum: Nicole, no yelling. We have company.

Nicole: UGH!! You guys, Jessica is probably getting uncomfortable right now! Stop it!

Luke: Oh, please, Nicole. Josiah is fine with us here.

Nicole: When are you going to get her name right?!!? IT'S JESSICA!!!!!

Ashton: You know, Nicole talks so much about you. It's almost as if she's in love with you.

Nicole: I swear, Jess, I talk about you to the boys but not the way he's describing it.

Luke: Nicole, her name is Jessica. Not Jess.

Nicole: (stands up) THAT'S IT! I HAVE HAD IT WITH YOU!

Ashton: (laughs) Are you annoyed?

Nicole: Yes, very! I know what you've been trying to do! You've just been trying to bug me and trust me, its working! Now that you've accomplished something, you can leave!

Luke: Um, I don't think so.

Nicole: Calum, do something.

Calum: I'll give you half again.

Nicole: Ugh!!!!!

Jessica: Nicole, if you want, you can come to my house.

Nicole: (sighs) Yeah, sure. Anything to get away from here.

Then Jessica stood up and we both got our jackets and shoes on. We left the house and we just decided to walk to her house. We needed time to talk and I needed some fresh air. Jeez, those guys are annoying. We talked and we finally got to her house. I came back home at around 10:00 pm and Jessica's mom drove me. I opened the door and saw nobody there. The TV was off and the lights were off too. I have to admit, I kind of felt guilty for yelling at them. I shouldn't have gotten so angry at them because they were just playing a little prank. I turned on the light in the kitchen and saw a note on the table. It said:

Dear Nicole,

So sorry for annoying you and your little friend. We knew her name all along. Here is your money I owed you. We all went to bed because we needed it and so do you. Hope you have a nice sleep! Goodnight.

I felt even more guilty and I looked under the paper which was a $50 bill. I had a pit feeling inside my stomach. I have had such a long day doing SOOOOO much. Maybe Calum's right. I do need some sleep. So I went upstairs, changed my clothes and went to bed.
