Chapter 22

Soon enough, Luke and Ashton came home. Thats when I got scared. Luke said to me, "Hey, did Brittany leave?" I frowned and Calum nudged me. I looked at him and he said, "Go on. Tell him." Luke sounded worried when he said, "tell me what?" I sighed and started talking.

Nicole: Luke, I had to kick Brittany out.

Luke: You did what?! Nicole, how could you?!?!?

Nicole: (stands up) It's not my fault! Brittany was so rude and came in here half naked looking like a total slut!

Ashton: Nicole! We do not use that language in here!

Nicole: Wow, now I'm the bad guy!

Calum: (stands up) Nicole, just calm down for a second.

Nicole: Luke, you can't blame me for something I had to do.

Luke: You didn't have to do that! You know what?! You're grounded!!!

Nicole: You can't do that!!!!!

Ashton: Nicole, no yelling!

Nicole: Well, I'm sorry, Ashton! But I have to yell louder for Luke to actually hear me out!!! Brittany was a bi***!!!

Ashton: (gasps) NICOLE! ROOM! NOW!

Nicole: UGH!!!! (runs to room)

I ran all the way to my room and slammed my door so loud. I was bawling my eyes out. This is the worst. I can't believe Luke isn't being considerate. Does he know how much I've been through with Brittany? Maybe Brittany was right. She is his favourite girl. Luke stood up for Brittany and didn't listen to me. Luke will never forgive me again. All of a sudden, I heard arguments downstairs. The voices started getting louder and louder. Soon everybody was yelling.

Calum: You just did something so wrong, Luke!

Luke: No, I didn't! Nicole needs to know how to respect people and this is what I'm doing to get her to!!!

Calum: She did nothing wrong!

Luke: Are you kidding me?! She swore in front of your own eyes, Calum!!

Ashton: Yeah, Calum. Shes not the goody-two-shoes you expect from her all the time!

Luke: When are you gonna realize that she did something bad?!

Calum: Maybe when you realize that Nicole isn't telling a lie!

Luke: What are you talking about?!?!

Calum: I saw Brittany being rude to Nicole! I saw it with my own eyes! I am a witness, Luke! When you have more than one person who says they saw the same thing, it's most likely going to be true!!!!!!!!!! JEEZ, LUCAS!!!!

(Silence)

I heard nothing after that. I was laying on my bed and when the arguing ended I just put my head on my pillow and cried it out. All of a sudden, I heard muffled running footsteps to my room and my door instantly opening. Silence again. I heard slower, more clearer footsteps coming to my room and I didn't even look at any of them. But I knew all three boys were there. I could feel my bed sinking in three spots, then a hand on my back. Soon enough, I heard what sounded like Luke's voice say, "I'm sorry, Nicole." I wasn't buying it. 'Sorry' is what you say after freaking out at me for something I didn't do? 'Sorry' is what you say after I was pretty much mobbed by words that hurt me so much from a half naked women? And 'Sorry' is what you say after making me suffer the thoughts of not being loved, not being heard? Well, 'sorry', dude... But 'sorry' isn't cutting it. I was silent for so long. I was waiting for them to leave... but they never did. I'm surprised they stayed with me for so long. After 10 whole minutes of silence, Luke continued to talk. "Please forgive me, Nicole. I was wrong. You were right. I shouldn't have freaked out. I really didn't know what I was doing." Thats when I broke. I finally said something. It was muffled in my pillow, but clear enough for them to hear. "Who is yours, Luke?" I could tell he was confused but there was not much I could say. "What?" he asked quietly and calmly. I lifted my head and looked at him. I repeated my question but added a bit more. "Who is yours, Luke? Brittany or me?"

Luke: I-I don't understand.

Nicole: You stood up for Brittany without even listening to me. Does that mean your first priority is Brittany?

Luke: No, no, no. Not at all, Nicole. Don't ever think that...... I understand your question now.... and the answer is you.

Nicole: Is it, Luke?

Luke: It is. I'm gonna break up with Brittany through text.

Nicole: You'd do that?

Luke: Of course I would. I'd do it for you, Nicole. Can you forgive me?

Nicole: ...I can. (hugs Luke)

Luke: (Hugs Nicole) Now lets go downstairs and have some food, shall we?

Nicole: Okay.

Then I stood up and Luke, Calum, and Ashton walked with me downstairs to have some food. Thank goodness we're done with that soap opera.
