Chapter 183

Nicole's POV

When I got home, I saw Calum and Michael on the couch watching TV. Michael's bandage was off but he had a patch on the side of his forehead. They both saw me walk in and Calum came up to me. "Hey, Nicole. How was your day at school?" He asked. I wanted to tell him about Matt soooooo bad but I wasn't really sure what his reaction would be or how bad it would be either. I just hoped he wouldn't react too strongly. I replied to Calum, "It was pretty good." Then he said, "Here. Come with me to the kitchen. I made some cookies." I went into there and saw the cookies on the table. I sat down and ate one. It was good. Calum said, "So how did your day go?" I knew at that time that I had to tell him what happened between Matt and I. So I thought, if I can ask the hottest guy in school out just like that, I think I can explain to Calum that I'm dating him. "There was a new kid at school today," I began, "His name was Matt and he asked me out." Calum looked at me with wide eyes. He said, "Really? And what was your response?" Now this was the hard part. I didn't know what to say. I mean, this could end badly.

Nicole: I said... yes.

Calum: You did?

Nicole: Yeah.

Calum: Well if you said yes, that means this kid must've been really good looking, right? Or as you girls prefer to say: Cute.

Nicole: Um, yeah, he was.

Calum: Nicole... uhh... I don't know if this is gonna work. You've told me this after it happened and I never got to approve of this.

Nicole: I know but there was no way you could. It was during school today.

Calum: What time?

Nicole: At lunch in the cafeteria.

Calum: You could've called me.

Nicole: I don't have a phone.

Calum: Use the one in the office.

Nicole: Calum, you'd honestly expect me to call you from school if a kid asks me out?

Calum: Nicole, when it comes to boys, I can get pretty protective. You've had too much experience and --

Nicole: I know but you can't let one experience that's already blown over take over my whole life forever.

Calum: Thats true, but we still have to be careful.

Nicole: So what do you expect me to do?

Calum: Well you have two choices.

Nicole: Okay, what are they?

Calum: The first choice is to break up with the kid, whatever his name is.

Nicole: It's Matt and I doubt that will happen. Whats the second choice?

Calum: You bring him over and I get to meet him.

Nicole: Uhh... is there a third choice?

Calum: 'Fraid not.

Nicole: Ugh, both choices are awful.

Calum: Whats so wrong with the second one?

Nicole: No offence, Calum, but if Matt comes over here, I'm gonna get embarrassed. Like, majorly.

Calum: How so?

Nicole: First of all, I don't have a mother. I live with 4 guys and he's probably gonna find that weird.

Calum: Oh.

Nicole: Second of all, I have a feeling you, Luke, Ashton, or Michael are gonna do something -- anything -- that's gonna embarrass me whether you say something embarrassing about me or say something to him that embarrasses yourself.

Calum: Okay, that's a possibility.

Nicole: Yeah. And third of all, if you get angry at Matt, it's gonna embarrass me the most.

Calum: Okay, I promise to refrain from all of those. Deal?

Nicole: Deal. When do you wanna meet him?

Calum: Today.

Nicole: Today!?

Calum: Nicole, I am desperate to meet this hunk you like. God, that was hard to say.

Nicole: Fine, but I'm gonna have to wait for him to text me 'cause he got my number and I never got his.

Calum: Alright. But if he doesn't text you by 5:00, you're breaking up with him.

Nicole: Oh, my god, Calum.

Calum: Thats the deal. I'm gonna tell Ash, Luke, and Michael.

Nicole: Fine.

I exited the kitchen and charged up to my room as I grabbed my iPod. Luckily, I had already gotten a text from him.

Matt: hey it's Matt. what's up?

Nicole: hey nm u?

Matt: nm. so what r ur plans cause I was hoping we could do something 2gether

Nicole: well would u mind coming over 2 my house?

Matt: sure that's a great idea.

Nicole: Yep. u should meet the ppl I live with. but there's some things u need 2 know about me

Matt: ok

Nicole: first thing is that I don't live with my parents. my parents r gone 2 a place somewhere in the world that doesn't have any cell service or wifi so we can't keep in touch

Matt: OMG Im so sorry. That's so sad

Nicole: yeah I guess it is.

Matt: Who do u live with?

Nicole: I live with 4 guys.

Matt: really? THAT'S SO COOL!

Nicole: it is?

Matt: YEAH OF COURSE IT IS! I wish I was living ur life

Nicole: lol their names r Ashton, Luke, Calum, and Michael

Matt: I can't wait 2 meet them

Nicole: and they can't wait 2 meet u. they have their own band 2

Matt: no way. THAT'S AWESOME. so where do u live? I can come now if you'd like

Nicole: yeah sure. I live...

I told Matt where I lived and then went downstairs to tell Calum. Calum said, "Good. Until then, clean up the house a bit." I nodded and cleaned a little bit.
