"Bokkie, do you want to watch a movie with me? Everyone else is busy or asleep."
I look up from my computer, sliding my headphones down around my neck. "Sure, just let me close this down. In the living room or your room?"
"My room. I just got a new laptop," he smiles brightly. Perfect. The couch sucks to cuddle on.
"Okay," I reply, watching him leave. I quickly shut the computer down, turning my light off and heading to his room. There, he was already sitting in his bed with the laptop open. "Scoot, scoot."
"Sit in my lap, you're too small to get behind me," he whines, tugging on my arm. I roll my eyes playfully, sitting down, careful not to hit my head on the top bunk.
"What movie is it?" I ask once he secures his arms around my torso. The screen had a company name on it, paused at that moment.
"It."
I frown, turning as best as I could to look at him. "It? Isn't that the clown movie?"
"Yup, and you're going to watch it with me."
"But hyung, you know I don't like horror movies. Have Minho watch it with you, or even Jeongin." I try to get out of his grasp, but he only tightens around me.
"Noo, I wanna watch it with you. If it's too scary, we can turn it off and watch something else. Please?"
I bite my lip, leaning against his chest. "Fine. I can't believe you tricked me into this. You're mean. You owe me lunch."
He giggles, "that's fine with me." He then plays the movie, and ominous music begins to come through the speakers. Already, chills are sent up my spine. Ugh, the things I do for him.
I watch the little kid run through the rain, after his boat. A few minutes later, the clown pops up. Clenching my jaw, I suffer through the scene. It's only when Pennywise grabs the kid's arm with his teeth that I jump.
"Hyung-"
"Lixie, it's okay. I'm right here."
I settle down once the scene changes to kids in school. Only five minutes later, the kid on his bike ran into an alleyway to get away from the bullies. Then, something happens. The door of the building begins to shake. And a hand crawls out. Smoke flares through the cracks of the door and screams were heard.
I turn, burying my head in Changbin's chest. He holds me tightly. I can only listen to the scene unravel, jumping when a sudden car engine roars to life.
"It's okay, Lix. It's over."
"I-I don't like this, Binnie."
"If you get really, really scared, I'll stop it."
The scene changes to the Jewish kid. His dad gets mad at him, and he heads to an office. Subtle music plays, and a painting falls to the ground. He goes to pick it up, noticing the lady in the painting was gone.
I grab Changbin's arm tightly, trying my best not to dig my nails into his skin.
The lady appears, my heart jumping to my throat. The kid screams, and I hide again. Fuck. This shit needs to be over.
Another kid in a library. He reads through a book. Kids singing in the background fades in. Pictures of bodies come through the screen. And then a head in a tree. He slams the book shut. Deadly high-pitched music plays and he follows a red balloon. Then a few Easter eggs. And down he goes.
My heart beats rapidly.
Lights flicker, kids laugh. A boy appears. Headless. A chase begins and adrenaline rushes through me. My breathing thickens and I turn around fully.
"Turn it off! Please!" I cry out, squeezing my eyes shut and covering my ears.
A few moments of shuffling, and then his hands are on me. "Lixie? It's okay, it's off. I'm sorry. I should've known better than to push."
"Please don't do that again," I whimper, still hiding myself.
"I won't, I'm sorry. What do you want to watch? We can get your mind off of it."
"I don't want to watch anything. I'm really tired, actually."
"Oh, okay." He lets go of me, expecting me to get up and go to my own room. Who does he think I am?
"Can I sleep in here? I'm too scared to sleep alone."
"Of course. Let me put the laptop away, though. Then we can head to bed. It's late anyway."
He gets out of bed, putting it on his desk before getting back in with me. We get under the thin covers, his arms once again locking around me.
"I'm sorry, again. I didn't know you were that scared," he whispers in my ear.
"It's okay. Now you just have to take me to lunch. A deal is a deal."
