Hongjoong's POV:
I speed through the grass on the quad, feeling San's hands tighten around my waist as I press the gas. I hear Yeosang's squeals behind us. The air whipped against my face, feeling nice and fresh. We come up to a tight space where I try to turn quickly, but my fingers get stuck before I can squeeze the brake.
Suddenly, I feel San's hands pull my body into the air. Everything goes blank. There's something heavy that rolled over my hand, not heavy enough to hurt. There was an aching pain in my thigh, but I wasn't focused on that.
I opened my eyes, standing quickly to see if the other two boys were okay. They were both beginning to stand from their fallen positions.
"I'm so sorry, are you guys okay? Are you guys hurt?" I question rapidly, my heart beating quick as I realize what I had just done.
Yeosang laughs, "I'm- I'm perfectly fine."
"I think my leg got ran over, but I'm fine," San adds in, looking over to the house.
I look too, seeing Seonghwa, Wooyoung, and Jongho running toward us. God, I've never seen them run so fast.
"Are you guys okay??" Seonghwa questions first, coming to me and checking me over. He lets the other two check the others out.
"Yeah, I think so. Nothing feels broken," I say.
Guilt began eating away at me. We could've gotten seriously hurt. There was a tree right there. We could've crashed straight into it.
"Guys, I'm so sorry. I tried braking, I swear I did. It came up too fast. I wasn't quick enough. I'm so sorry," I apologize out loud, feeling absolutely awful about it.
"It's okay, don't worry. We didn't get too hurt, so it's fine. Just be thankful that there isn't any broken bones," San says, his face being squished by Wooyoung.
"Wow," I chuckle lightly, "that was insane. My first thought was if you guys were okay. I've never had an experience like that."
"Really? I think I blacked out. I don't remember what even happened," San says.
"My first thought was what the heck just happened," Yeosang responds, "I didn't even think about you guys."
I nod, not feeling good from what he said. I couldn't imagine what would've happened if they got seriously hurt on my hands. It's such a scary thought. I don't know how I'd be able to sleep at night.
"What happened? Are you sure you're okay?"
I shrug, "I mean, my thigh hurts a bit. I think it got caught on the steering wheel when it flipped. I think my hand was run over, but I'm fine. Not any bad bruises."
"My leg was ran over. Minor bruises, I'm fine," San smiles, giving a thumbs up. "Now I can say that I was run over."
"I'm perfectly fine. I don't know how, but I am," Yeosang giggles, shrugging along.
"I'm so sorry," I apologize once more.
"It's okay. We just know who needs to get a license before driving," Yeosang laughs, making me pout at the statement.
"Alright, I'll drive the quad back up. Do one of you want to ride with me or are you scared?" Jongho questions.
"I'll ride!" Yeosang was quick to respond, hopping on the back of the still running vehicle. "Let's go."
We all walk up to the house from the backyard. Seonghwa holds my hand in reassurance, probably being able to tell that I was upset. Even though no one got hurt, I felt awful.
"I'm going to go change. I have dirt all over me now," I respond.
"I'll go with you, I want to see if you have any major cuts," Seonghwa says and I agree.
Both of my legs were hurting badly. Mostly around my thigh area. My right arm burned from skidding on the ground as well.
We entered my room, and I pulled off my jeans which left me in my boxers.
"Oh my gosh, that's a huge bruise," Seunghwa says, grasping my leg and making me sit on the bed. He inspects both of my legs, "that'll definitely hurt in the morning. Try not to sleep on that side."
There was a huge purple bruise on my left mid thigh and three smaller bruises around it. Another purple bruise was on my right calf, and then it felt like I pulled something in my right thigh.
"Jeez, you need to be careful," he says while inspecting the soon-to-be bruises on my hand. "What even happened?"
"I turned really hard. I tried braking but it didn't work," I say, trying to say it wasn't my fault but it really was.
"They're not majorly hurt, so it's okay. Even if they broke something, it was an accident," Seonghwa hands me pajama pants.
"Yeah but... they could've broken something and it would've been my fault," I frown, looking up toward him with a pout.
He sits next to me, hugging me, "but they didn't. And that's what matters. Go on, change. We can all just watch a movie to calm down."
