Compromise (MHO)

Arti winced, being jolted awake at the blurring sound of his alarm. He groaned in annoyance, wishing he could just sleep forever and not have to get out of bed. Fortunately it was now the weekend meaning at least he didn't have to put up with school alongside his crippling misery.

The light from his phone blinded him as he clicked it open, squinting as he turned down the brightness then fumbled for his glasses. A notification at 01:07 read on his phone from Shino, "Goodnight Arti" a simple text was sent through, despite his annoyance at his boyfriend currently the message still made a sticky sweet smile form and a slight brush creep to his cheeks.

It felt like no matter what, no matter how bad something that Shino did was, Arti would always love him. Sometimes like yesterday and the day before he resented it, resented how much it hurt him. Yet he'd always love him, Shino made his life so much better. Guess Arti couldn't stay mad at him for long, he wasn't mad, he was hurt.

He just decided to go back to sleep, clicking his phone off and laying his head back into the pillow.

"STAY AWAKE!" RikKu chimed, clicking his light on receiving an agitated groan in reply. "But its the weekend" he slurred in tiredness, slightly sitting up and rubbing his eyes. RikKu softened her approach, she had tried to come over to him with a positive attitude and excited manner so encourage him, but seeing his groggy state left her feeling remorseful.

She sighed, sitting on the edge of his bed as Arti woke himself up "you feeling ok?" RikKu asked softly, trying to remain the peacekeeper and hold them both together. "I miss him RikKu, i love him." Arti sighed, leaning into her slightly and she accepted it by hugging him tightly.

"He loves you too, do you wanna get breakfast and maybe you could speak to him later?.." RikKu suggested, Arti stayed silent for a moment. "I do like the sound of breakfast.." he replied, a small smile coming to his face which immediately made RikKu cheer with excitement knowing her attempts at cheering one of her best friends up was successful

"See you down in 5!" RikKu announced, leaving his room in a hurry with a smile, he was slightly surprised by her quick reaction however he giggled and got up to make his appearance look more presentable.

RikKu practically jumped down Arti's stairs leading into the kitchen "Shinoooo!" She hummed, making Shino jump slightly, he stud in the kitchen getting ready to make breakfast "could you make me and Artiiii.... Some waffles please??" RikKu asked nicely, smirking to herself slightly at the mention of Artemis. "Arti!! Yeah sure, um. Is he ok?" Shino asked, slightly hesitant however grabbing the packet of waffles out of the cupboard.

Arti finally made his way downstairs, on seeing his two roommates the atmosphere was a lot less heavy then he had expected. Maybe that was a good sign for him and Shino to try talking again... "Arti!! I was just about to come get you! Shino made waffles" Rikku smiled, Shino looking at him with a slightly nervous yet warm smile

Arti forced a soft laugh "i can't remember the last time i had waffles.." he mentioned, sitting down at the table where RikKu had placed a plate in front of a seat for him to sit. "Thank you Shino" he said quite softly, nervous about how striking conversation after their argument would go. "No worries" Shino replied with a similar tone

They finished breakfast in a slighty awkward silence, for the entire silence RikKu thought of ways to bring up conversation. "Hey Arti, are you ready to go to the cafe?" RikKu asked, having finished her breakfast entirely. Arti seemed to freeze for a minute, his face going blank "we're going to the cafe today?" Arti asked in confusion, RikKu's expression sharing the same blank expression "you didn't know? We're going at 11am to the cafe... we'll get back at 3" RikKu told him - again.

"Oh" he muttered, due to the recent stress he completely forgot he was going out. "Oh god i gotta get ready!! Sorry!!" Artemis quickly excused himself, standing up and quickly running downstairs into the bathroom to clean his teeth. "I'm gonna clean up" Shino offered, RikKu nodded gratefully "i'm gonna go finish that anime i was watching!" She smiled, retreating to her room.
