A night to remember

(This takes place a good while into the future BTW - they've graduated Monarch Academy, Shino and Arty own an apartment together)

Shino nervously adjusted his tie, despite having adjusted it 3 times already. But tonight he knew he had to look perfect. He had slicked his hair back, however the yellow streak in his hair refused to sit back with the rest of his hair so he let it curl at the front - which honestly looked quite nice.

He had it all planned out. Which is what he told himself to try soothe his rapid heartbeat. His suit was itchy however he could tolerate it, but it didn't help his nerves and how overwhelmed he already was.

He knew he should've taken up Artemis on the offer to make him a suit, it was one of the first things Artemis offered when Shino had told him to dress nicely for the night. But tonight he wanted to treat Artemis, he didn't want him even having to lift a finger tonight. Tonight it was all about him, about them.

"Arty? Are you ready?" Shino called out as he left the bathroom, grabbing his keys off their table. "Yep!!" Arty cheerfully replied, a bit of noise coming from their bedroom before Artemis came out. He had hardly changed from Monarch Academy, his hair still his usual messy black and white, he had got a couple more piercings on his ears, he still had his square glasses - for now at least, he was planning on getting contacts as he was insistent that his glasses ruined his face.

But Shino couldn't disagree more, in his eyes nothing could ruin Arty's face. He wore a white blazer with a black collared shirt and a purple corset, he hadn't let go of his corset obsession yet. "You look amazing" Shino blurted out, looking him up and down before meeting his eyes, receiving a soft smile through his pink cheeks

He walked over quickly and pressed a kiss into Shino's cheek. "Thank you baby... now whats this surprise?" Arty asked, completely oblivious to Shino's anxiousness. "A surprise, that's what it is" Shino sarcastically replied, still trying to act as normal as he could, Artemis giggling slightly and rolling his eyes as they left their apartment.

It was around 8pm, yet as they were in the middle of summer the sun only began to set at 10pm. Meaning the streets were still a warm and safe daylight, yet today had a slight breeze meaning they both weren't sweating in their suits. Shino headed over to the car, opening the door for Artemis and taking a cheesy bow, Arty visibly blushing as he thanked Shino and got inside.

Arty already had high hopes, Shino seeming lively and excited about the night ahead which only made Artemis feel a lot better. Despite Shino's absence of emotions normally, Arty had grown to learn how to read him. He could tell when he was stressed as he was more calm, whereas when he was genuinely doing ok he was more reactive and seemed more focused and in the room.

He felt a hand slip to his knee, smiling as he moved his hand over Shino's and glanced over. Shino made eye contact with him, smiling thoughtfully as he kept one hand on the steering wheel in front of him. "We're here" Shino told him, facing the road again as he moved his hand away from Arty's knee to focus on parking the car.

They eventually got out, the smell of natural salt being prominent which Arty noticed. "You parked so bad Shino!!" Artemis complained as they walked down the pavement to wherever Shino was taking them. He shrugged with a careless chuckle, after all the parking lot wasn't busy so if it was seriously that big of a deal someone could just park on another row

After all, it was their night. He wouldn't be worrying about stupid stuff like parking. At least he told himself, each time he thought of the future of their night he became more anxious. But he kept his composure, hand in hand walking seemingly aimlessly until the soft sound of hitting waves caught Artemis's attention.

"Are we at the beach?" Arty asked, wrapping his arms around Shino's arm as they walked, turning a corner to see the soft gold sand and the gentle crashing waves in front of them. "Yeah, i thought it would be nice to watch the sunset" Shino explained as they walked on the small wooden planks which small stray sand grains on the wood.
