(TW for mourning and self destruction)

Artemis rushed through the white corridors, seeing familiar faces all standing by a patient room door. "Is he ok??" Arty asked frantically, rushing over to Kiyo who stud outside, looking over at him with a raw empathetic look in contrast to his usual unbothered manner.

He just shrugged, not actually having the words to tell Artemis that Shino wasn't doing well. "W-What's happened? Is he ok Kiyo??" Artemis continued, his voice breaking slightly. He had been at the cafe club when he got the call from Blake saying Shino was at the hospital, quickly getting changed out his uniform and rushing there without even telling the rest of the maids he was leaving.

"He's taken a bunch of pills apparently.."

Arty's heart fell into his stomach, he knew Shino had been struggling sure, but he thought they had been talking? He thought Shino was in a good place? "O-On purpose?" Arty asked, his eyes filling up with tears and a few managing to escape him. "Arty?" Sapphire called to him, walking back over to where her and Kiyo had been standing with a bottle of water in her hand when she noticed Arty.

Arty nodded, wiping his eyes slightly as Sapphire pulled him into a tight hug as he stopped trying to hold back any tears in his eyes. "Has there been any updates on him?" Sapphire asked Kiyo as she hugged him tighter while he continued to cry. Kiyo made sure Arty hasn't looking before shaking his head.

.

Artemis woke up weakly, previously after having these nightmares he'd wake up in tears however tonight he was too exhausted to be startled. He just sat up slowly, rubbing his tired and damp eyes as he took a breath. It was hard having a disturbed sleep along with such depression and lack of food, everything normal had just been harder now Shino had passed.

It broke him, he knew Shino wouldn't want him to have fallen apart yet Arty knew he was struggling and still allowed him to get to a point where he'd take enough pills to kill himself. He had stopped going to school after Shino passed, he has tried once but the empty desk just broke him, and getting up moving around the dorm to see an empty room just broke him so he just stayed in his room.

"Artemis?" A tired voice came from the floor next to him. He sniffled back his tears to compose himself "go back to sleep Kiyo.." he whispered, glancing to the other side of the bed next to him to see Sapphire was still asleep. A small grunt came from the floor as Kiyo sat up and stretched, clearly ignoring Artemis's protests.

His friends had also decided he wasn't in the mental space at the moment to be left alone, Kiyo and Sapphire deciding to temporarily move into dorm 8 until Arty got a bit better. "Guess we're awake now" Kiyo sighed, getting up and turning a small lamp on to light up the room enough to be able to see however not enough to wake up Sapphire. "No, honestly, go back to sleep" Arty's voice cracked as Kiyo sat on the side of the bed next to him and pulled open a draw from his bedside table.

Arty watched as Kiyo grabbed a small roll of bandages and a small tube of antiseptic cream, Artemis looked away as he covered his hands in his shadows so Kiyo could take his hand and pull his sleeve up, pulling the old bandage away from his arms and carefully applying the antiseptic cream to the small red lines on his arms before wrapping a clean white bandage around his arms.

Arty continued to look at the floor next to them as he let his shadows fall back to their original place as Kiyo put the bandages and cream away, if anything it was embarrassing for him to sit there so openly vulnerable as people watched him fall apart. Kiyo noticed how disoriented Artemis seemed, pulling him into a careful hug making sure not to hurt him with his quirk.

Artemis wrapped his arms around himself as he leaned into Kiyo. "I miss him." Arty broke, choking up again as he couldn't stop his tears. Kiyo sighed, honestly tired however he was willing to sacrifice a few hours of sleep he'd normally get if it meant that there wouldn't be a second suicide in their class. "I miss him too, but he wouldn't want you to be so upset about him, he'd want you to be happy." Kiyo tried to console

Arty nodded, covering his mouth to mask his sobs so he didn't wake up sapphire. Kiyo had told him that so many times, and he knew it was true, it was just hard to know that someone he cared about so stupidly much was genuinely gone and he'd just never see him again. He wished he enjoyed the smaller moments with Shino more, he would've if he knew those would be some of his last moments with him.

"Is everything ok?" Sapphire mumbled, clearly half asleep however disturbed awake. Arty just felt guilty, all because he couldn't handle his greif in healthy weighs he now had to burden his friends while they were grieving as well. "Yeah, what do you want for breakfast?" Kiyo asked as he got up and switched the main light on, checking the time on his phone: 5:19am, not too early..

"Pancakes, i'm too scared to say cereal" Sapphire smiled at her joke as she sat up with a yawn, Kiyo turning to Arty expectingly as he looked at him back apprehensively. "I'm not hungry.." he mumbled with a shrug. Obviously he was hungry, he was hungry the last 7 times he had told Kiyo he wasn't. Kiyo gave him a look before leaving the room to presumably go make food for the two of them.

He looked over to Sapphire who had the same look on her face, the almost disappointed look, the look of almost pity people give you when they can tell something wrong with you, and you know it's not malicious yet it's so cruel for them to look at you and you can tell that they know you're truly falling apart no matter how you hide it.

Like all the walls you had built around yourself were made out of glass.

"You can't keep doing this to yourself Arty, you're only going to get better if you try to make yourself better" Sapphire told him, the brutal honesty was something he knew yet at the same time he didn't, like the knew he had to just didn't know how to. "I know.. I-It's just hard." Artemis replied honestly, all he wanted to do was cry into Shino's arms, yet that was impossible so all he could do was cry.

Sapphire smiled softly at him. "I know, and we're just trying to make it easier" she emphasised, sometimes worrying if Artemis seen it as they were intruding on him instead of trying to help him. "A-And you are.. and thank you for being there.." Arty told her.

She nodded, getting out of bed to go help Kiyo with breakfast. "If you're not going to eat something you should try go back to sleep" she told him before leaving the room. He sighed, falling back into his pillows as the stared at the ceiling. Why could he never have anything?

He picked up his phone from the side, unlocking it before opening Shino's contact. "It's been really hard without you, i can barely sleep. I miss you every second, please come back, i wish you would just walk through the door and tell us it was all some massive prank." He typed before sending the message, watching it never deliver, as there was nobody to deliver it to anymore.

He put his phone down before he lay back down. His eyes heavy with exhaustion yet he could never sleep.
