Shino used to remember his memories with his mom being some of his favourite times, little moments of pretending to fall asleep in the car so she'd have to carry him inside the house or arts and crafts and baking lessons where no matter how much mess he made his mum would never seem to loose her patience with him.

Now he had his true memories back, it was less positive. Most of those memories were just fake. He barely knew his mom, most of the time she was out and his dad would have to look after him. He realised now that she was probably doing whatever weird villain shit she does now.

The memories hurt him, his dad having to explain to a younger Shino where his mom was without truly knowing himself. He felt bad for his dad. Being so in love with someone, wanting to help them through their issues no matter what yet always being shut out, having a partner who would sneak away from you and lie to you - exclude you from their life, put themselves in danger and harm and force them to watch as they fall apart without being able to help and filling them up with stress to the point they become ill.

He would never be like his mom.

It was a colder night, Shino had left the dorm very early morning when the sky was still dark. He had a thick hoodie on with some random jeans he grabbed off his bedroom floor. It had rained a couple of hours ago so the grass was muddy, meaning he just roamed the streets instead of going off through any forested areas

But he could just feel it, that suspenseful feeling knowing something would happen. He could just feel it, something telling him that tonight would be different. That's why he left, he just knew something was wrong. Yawning to himself as he strolled down rather unfamiliar roads, unaware of how long he had been walking but to be honest he couldn't care.

After all he assumed RikKu and Artemis had just become used to him coming back to him coming home late, at least he assumed so. After all both of them were now aware of Shino being a vigilante, and both aware that now he had stopped doing so they were less questioning when he was out late. Well, he had stopped doing so.

A small snap of what he presumed was a twig behind him caught his attention, he stopped walking. It remained silent around him, Shino keeping his eyes on the sound as the drew his usual light sword in defence. The surroundings were quiet, Shino almosy freezing to blend into the environment.

"Wow, you fell for the oldest trick in the book." A voice commented from behind him, soft and feminine, a faint British accent showing through. Shino immediately knew who it was, despite it being almost a decade since he heard that voice he immediately recognised it.

The couldn't face turning round, just facing his sword towards where the voice came from. Ghost whisperer immediately noticed how he didn't turn around, smiling to herself as she continued to focus on Shino instead of the bright sword facing her.

"Did you not miss me?" She asked, despite the little effort put into trying to sound approachable even a deaf person could tell it was ballshit. Shino frowned, tightening the grip on his sword. "Why are you here?" Shino asked, keeping his voice a constant tone, trying to stable himself enough to not be an open book.

Maybe it was useless, after all Ghost whisperer seemed to have access to most his memories, or at least his childhood ones. He could wake up tomorrow and not know anything about himself. "Your father is alive?" She asked, approaching carelessly and using her finger to tilt Shino's sword away from her.

Shino twisted the sword in his hands, swinging it at her, Ghost whisperer quickly blocking it with an armoured arm and taking a step back. "Can you please stay out of my head? Like, I've heard of overly caring paranoid moms - even my boyfriend's mum calls him every other day you can get used to it... but creeping in my mind?" Shino rolled his eyes, taking a couple of cautious steps away from Ghost whisperer.
