(Venus is so badly out of character in this because i literally have no idea how they would handle this situation but whatever)

Artemis had tried to convince Shino to go to this second appointment later on in the week, as Venus had told him he could come back whenever he felt ready.

So Shino reluctantly agreed, knowing Venus had already passed a possible diagnosis onto Kowalski there was at least some knowledge with the support systems of what was going on with Artemis so if he needs anything he could go to a teacher, so the only reason they'd really be going back was to confirm the diagnosis meaning they could postpone it until he was ready.

So for the first week after the appointment it went fine, playing it off to RikKu as exam stress until he was ready to tell her. And the first week was fine - except a slight awkwardness whenever he was around the staff.

But on the second week Shino had convinced him to go back to Venus. Artemis had another rough day and ended up crying over what he had eaten, Shino telling him to go back to Venus realising this would only begin deteriorating.

So thats where they were, sitting on the same uncomfortable bed feeling the metal beams under the thin mattress as they both sat down waiting for Venus to return to the room with finally an answer.

They had talked to Venus about Artemis's eating, Artemis replying to most questions and Shino replying to the ones Artemis only gave a small shrug at. Honestly it broke Shino's heart, the both of them sitting in silence, the only sounds being their breathing and the soft squeak of the mattress as Artemis's knee bounced softly.

It hurt him to listen to Artemis answers such upsetting questions. Listening him reply to questions like "does eating sometimes make you feel guilty?" And "do you restrict what you eat?" With shaky "sometimes" and "i guess"'s.

Arti had just given up on whatever calm demeanour he had held onto on their first appointment, now just letting tears roll down his face whenever they decided they wanted to shed, feeling Shino's hand comfortingly on his thigh as he hugged his arms to himself.

He didn't even consider his eating a disorder until Venus had explained everything to him, the harsh reality setting in that he had a problem over the past 2 weeks now filling him with dread. It felt like everything had changed yet he only just put a label on a pre-existing issue.

"You ok?" He heard Shino whisper, dabbing away a tear that had fell down his face. "I'm scared" Artemis mumbled back, not maintaining eye contact as he just continued to look at the door in expectancy for Venus to come back.

Shino didn't know how to reply, his heart aching hearing the comment. He just kissed Artemis's cheek, hugging him tightly, he didn't know anyway to try ease his nerves, waiting for that diagnosis to come back was always the worst.

Just on queue Venus opened the door and walked back in, Shino looking at them expectantly as he let go of Artemis so venus could properly talk to him. "So.. from the few appointments you've had with the counsellor.. i think it's safe to say we can diagnose you with anorexia or ARFID" Venus explained, looking at Artemis in hopes for some sort of reaction yet he just locked eyes with them for a second them looked back at the floor.

"Do you want to continue appointments with the school counsellor to talk about how we can overcome this?" Venus offered gently, watching Artemis rest his face in his hands and shrug "i-i don't know" he choked back tears, holding his hands to stop them from shaking. Shino quickly pulled him into a hug hearing his voice break, looking up to see Venus's concerned look as they walked over and crouched on the floor in-front of him.

"Are you ok Arti?" Shino asked, wiping his face from his tears as Arti held a hand over his mouth to try stop himself from crying. "I-I'm sorry, i'm just r-really overwhelmed" he said shakily, tears running down his fake in thick sobs and his hands continued to tremble. "Artemis breathe, you're going to start hyperventilating" Venus told him softly, Shino bringing his hand away from his mouth so he could breath properly.
