Four Months Later

...

It's hard to believe that nothing much has changed since the day that everyone's reality had been impacted.

Now, Empire was now ran under the ownership of Jamal, Andre, and Hakeem. The previous music artists; Treasure, Blake, Tianna, and so on had officially returned with the schedules they had hoped to have. The numbers were better than they ever have before.

And if the boys ever started acting like boys again...

Cookie groaned as she spoke into the phone. "Like I said, you either give Treasure and Blake the feature, or you give Tianna a solo. No in between." She said. "Fine, fine." Said Hakeem.

"Discuss like men, please. Don't make me have to come back there and stick my foot up somebodies behind." She said. "Alright, call me later with your decision. Bye." She said, then ending the call.

Once she did, she was almost bumped into by a pedestrian walking on the busy city streets. She flattened her lips. "Well excuse you..!" She said, then adjusting her shades. "Y'all are just as bad as New Yorkers, good lord." She snapped, then turning back around.

She stared up at the tall building that stood before her. She felt weight in her chest. "They just placed it in the middle of the city like this..." She said.

...

She stepped inside, looking around uncomfortably. The scent was stale, and Cookie knew it all too well. There was never a fragrance. No scent of pine, lavender, or orchids. Just stale. Clean enough.

The bland color that was painted in the front entrance. The lack of any ounce of cheerfulness in this facility. She knew it all too well.

She tried to fight back the flashbacks that would remind her of the painful times she endured while being locked away like an animal in a cage
