Next Day

...

Anika breathed heavily as she jogged down the sidewalk. She was dressed a black sports bra and black leggings, her body sweaty and tired.

She was trying to run the frustration out of her. The heartbreak and the betrayal from Lucious. She noticed her phone ringing, interrupting the music she was listening to through her headphones.

She noticed it was her mother. She answered it, sighing. "Yes, mom." She said. "Anika, honey how are you?" Her mother asked. "I'm awful." She said.

"Stop talking about how everything is going to be fine!" She said.

"I'm clearly not doing fine! I am so tired!" She exclaimed

"You clearly don't understand, mom. No! I have nothing, and I have no one!"

She walked up to a building, and up the front steps to the front door. "Bye, mom. I'm hanging up." She said in frustration, then ending the call and putting her phone back into her purse.

Even though she sounded harsh, her moth understood her daughter's frustration and emotional pain. They hated Lucious as much as she did, now.

She walked into the building, then up some stairs into a living room. She walked towards a bedroom and from there into a bathroom. By this time, it was clear that this place belonged to Anika.
