Five Years In The Future

...

Lori turned around, two breakfast plates in her hands stacked with bacon, eggs, and small pancakes.

"Breakfast is ready!" She called, and the girls stared with curious looks. She sat them on a table that was as short as they were. It was a miniature dining table for the two of them, as they felt it became tedious to constantly sit them in the regular sized dining tables only for them to be too short to reach their food.

"Thank you mama

"Thank you mama." Said Liv. Vivian examined her plate, then looking back at her mother. She crossed her arms, furrowing her eyebrows and pouting. "She has more bacon than me!" She said.

"No I don't." Said Liv, beginning to eat her meal. "Do too!- Nuh uh- Yuh huh!" Vivian snapped. Lori rolled her eyes. "Alright, alright. She has four and you have three. I did it that way because you don't always finish all your food, Viv. But fine, I'll take one of hers and split it so you each get half. Okay?" Lori asked.

She reached and grabbed a piece of bacon off of Liv's plate, then splitting it down the middle. She gave Viv the other half, and she began to smile again after that.

"There. Is that better?" Lori asked, and the girls nodded. "I'll give you your juice after you eat." She said, then walking away to make her own meal. While the girls ate, Lori's phone began to ring.

"Hey, Candace." Lori said. "How's motherhood treating you?" Candace asked. "Girl, I just had to stop Vivian from throwing a tantrum because Liv had one more piece of bacon than her. These kids are going to be the death of me." Said Lori. Candace laughed.

"Well, you do have identical twins. I remember these two girls who used to go to highschool with us. Identical twins and both had the exact same level of bad attitude." She said. "You talking about Brandy and Candy Robinson? Oh, I knew them too. Remember how they used to go around rating every bodies shoes to determine who was 'cool enough'?" Lori asked.

"I sure do..! They were crazy," Candace said. "And I stuck this four out of ten rating shoe up Candy's ass after she tried to keep flirting with Lucious. Now I realize I beat that poor girl up for nothing." Lori said.

"Speaking of which...are...ever considering letting the girls see him? Or telling them about him?" Candace asked. Lori spoke quieter now, and stared at the girls eating their food and talking to each other.

She sighed. "You know, this family has always been ridden with so much drama. I'm trying to be different and be a more honest person living an honest life. But...I think that he should be kept far away from them. He's been in prison for over five years now. We haven't spoken since then. I don't think the kids really need to know him. He's not related to them anyway." Said Lori.

"Yeah, I understand. He's such a destructive person, I'd hate for my kids to meet him." Said Candace. "Plus, I'm over him and have been over him.- Mama, can you clean my hands?" Viv asked, running over to her with greasy hands from the bacon. "Okay, don't touch anything just stay right there." Lori said.
