Sam’s POV
It’s been a week since what happened with Vanessa. I am still angry at her for what she did. I amin the studio writing a song called ‘Therapy Session’. Scarlett and I have barely left each other’s side this whole week. “Hey Baby Danny is at school.” Scarlett says walking into the studio. “How’d it  go I know he didn’t really want to go to school and we all know I would give in to his puppy eyes and bring him back home.” I say. “There were tears but when I told him Sarah goes to a school to learn he practically leaped out of my arms.” Scarlett says. “Yeah that sounds right. Why do they have to grow up so fast?” I ask. “I don’t know but Danny is definitely going to be your height. And so is Emma, look at  her she is taller than Wyatt.” Scarlett says. “Yeah everyone is going to be taller than you.” I say looking at the kids. “I’m five three ok I’m not tiny.” Scarlett groans. “Hey penguin, I didn’t mean it like that. I just meant that the Mily’s have always been tall people and I’m digging my hole deeper aren’t I?” I say and she nods. “You redeemed yourself when you called me penguin but yeah stop digging.” She says. “My penguin.” I tell her in a demonic voice wrapping my arms around her. “What’s with the demon voice?” She laughs. “I don’t know.” I say in my normal voice. “Should we tell Mom?” Scarlett asks. “That you are my penguin?” I ask. “No about what happened with Vanessa.” She says. “It’s too late, I already know. Sam how could you make a move on Vanessa while married to Scarlett!” Melanie’s voice booms from the doorway. “Mama Sloan that’s..” She cuts me off. “Don’t Mama Sloan me. Vanessa is a wreck.” Melanie says and I hang my head Scarlett stands up from my lap. “Mom Vanessa came onto Sam and got angry when Sam rejected her I watched it happen and yeah I got in a fight with Vanessa which Sam stopped and in doing so got punched full force by Vanessa in the back because Sam wrapped her body around me there is still a slight bruise on Sam from what happened and that’s where I got this cut.” Scarlett says, defending me with her hand on my shoulder. “I didn’t know about a fight, why would your sister lie?” Melanie says. “So you’d do what you just did come in here and acuse Sam of her worst nightmare causing someone pain.” Scarlett says and she’s right I never want to cause someone pain. Melanie takes a step inside the studio but Scarlett holds her hand out to signal for her to stop and she does. “I’m sorry Sam for not listening to your side of the story first. It's just Vanessa came to me yesterday in tears and I just felt the overwhelming need to protect my little girl can I see your back? I've got some cream that might help.” Melanie says and Scarlett looks at me and I nod and take off my shirt and the bruise is still a little purple. It's not as bad as it was but still sore. “Vanessa can punch I know because I taught her just like I taught Scarlett and when I saw Vanessa plant her feet and pull her arm back I knew she was going to hit Scarlett with all she had hence why I stepped in physically because the two wouldn’t listen to me telling them to stop.” I tell Melanie. “Here do you mind if I put this on the bruise it might help?” She offers. “No I’m good Scarlett put the same stuff on it this morning.” I say putting my shirt back on. “I’ll call Vanessa and have her apologize.” Melanie says pulls out her phone.
“Hey Mom.” Vanessa answers.
“I’m in L.A.” Melanie says.
“Oh I’m sorry for lying.” She says.
“How about you apologize to Sam and your sister.” Melanie says.
“I’m sorry for trying to fuck your wife Scarlett and Sam I’m sorry for making a move on you and hitting you I was trying to hit Scarlett but I should have known you would step in to protect her before I could.” Vanessa says genuinely.
“Thank you for your apology.” I accept her apology.
“Thank you for apologizing Nessa but I’m not ready to forgive you just yet.” Scarlett says.
“I did try and ruin your marriage so that makes sense.” Vanessa says.
“Ok thank you now no more fighting.” Melanie says.
“Yes Mom.” Scarlett and Vanessa say at the same time before Melanie hangs up.
“I see the littles but where is Danny?” Melanie asks. “He is on his first day of kindergarten.” I say proudly. “Oh I’m so proud and holy shit Elizabeth!” Melanie squeals this is the first time Melanie is seeing her crawl. “I know she is crawling all over the place.” Scarlett beams. “How about I make us all a roast for dinner?” Melanie asks. “Penguin, you know I love your cooking but I love Mama Sloan’s roasts, can she please?” I ask Scarlett. “I have no problem with it. I don’t have to cook plus it’s my Mom’s roast. I'm all for it.” Scarlett says. “Did she just call you penguin?” Melanie asks, confused. “Ask Danny after I pick him up from School.” I tell her and she nods. “Grammy.” Wyatt cheers at least he didn’t call her ‘fuck bitch’. “Yes my little angel?” Melanie says scooping him up. “Fuck bitch.” Emma says walking to Melanie. “It’s the only thing she says.” I tell her. “I’ll take it.” Melanie says. “Come on you two angels, let's go make a roast.” Melanie says scooping Emma up with her other arm. “Scarlett, you want to hear the new song?” I ask. “Always, I’ll head into the soundbooth.” She says and goes to the soundbooth but not before kissing me on the cheek. “Ok three two one.” I count down before hitting play on the laptop.
