Sam’s POV
Next morning I move over in my sleep and feel Scarlett’s side empty and groan and slowly wake up. Where is she? It’s 6 am. I look over to the baby monitor and see she’s in Kai’s room sitting on the rocking chair rocking Kai back and forth. He must’ve woken up, weird I didn’t hear him cry. I get up grabbing a tshirt and throwing it on and walking over to Kai’s room. “Hey, is everything alright?” I whisper getting Scarlett’s attention. “Yeah he was fussing a bit when I got up to go to the bathroom earlier so I came in here to feed him and now just getting him back to sleep.” She tells me while still rocking him. He has been really attached to her but I’m ok with it because he looks so cute nestled into her arms. I smile and walk over to them and place a soft kiss on his head and sit next to Scarlett in the other rocker. Yes we have two rockers in his room. We did with all the kids so we can both be in here together sometimes to get the kids to sleep. Once she thinks he’s finally asleep she slowly gets up and places him back in his crib and turns on his mobile. We walk out of his room quietly and leave his door open just a little and head back to our room. We get into bed and Scarlett cuddles into my left side while I rub my hand up and down her back. “I was thinking maybe we should take a trip with the kids” I say outloud as I am rubbing her back. Scarlett picks up her head looking at me. “Where are you thinking we should go?” She asks. “Maybe we should go to a small town, far away from everything. Where we can see the stars light up the sky and we can go hiking and take the kids fishing and on a boat,” I say thinking of things. “I think that’s a great idea” she says smiling and gives me a kiss.
We then heard a knock on the door. “Come in” I say and see Wyatt walking in with his Scarlet Witch blanket and rubbing his eyes. “Mommy, mama I had a bad dream. Can I come lay with you?” He asks softly. “Of course come here little man” I say, lifting him into bed with us and having him get comfy in between us. “Do you wanna talk about it?” Scarlett asks, rubbing his back. “There was a really bad storm and we all got separated and it was just me and Emma and I was scared we were never going to see you or mama or sissy’s or brothers again.” He says, wiping his eyes. “Aww buddy it’s ok it was just a bad dream, mommy and I will always protect you guys and make sure you’re safe.” I tell him, holding him close and kissing him on the forehead.

Scarlett’s POV
I love watching Sam comforting Wyatt. She is a big softie and always wants to make sure the kids are feeling safe with us. I don’t like it when the kids have nightmares but I know we can’t control that and hope that they feel comfortable to come to us and we will do anything in our power to make them feel safe and loved. We fell asleep after a few minutes and woke up again in a few hours. Wyatt hugged the both of us before Sam helped him out of bed and into his room to help him get changed and to have him brush his teeth. I got up and went into our en-suite and did my morning routine before changing into capris and one of Sam’s band t shirts. I threw my hair up into a messy bun and walked downstairs to get started on breakfast. While I was cooking Sarah came down and decided to help. We move quite well together in the kitchen and get breakfast done in no time. “I’ll go let everyone know breakfast is ready,” she says, hugging me and heading upstairs. I don’t know what has gotten into the kids but they have been extra clingy to us lately. I’m not complaining because I love it, they will always be my babies no matter what age. I plate the pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and mixed fruits and set them on the dining room table. I grab the pitcher of orange juice from the fridge and fill up the cups for the kids and make protein smoothies for Sam and I. After a few minutes Wyatt and Emma come running downstairs and into the dining room and sit next to each other. Sarah comes down carrying Elizabeth while Danny follows her and Sam is carrying Kai. “Did you tell grandma Laura and Grandma Mel that breakfast is ready?”I ask Sarah. “Yes I did, they said they will be right down” she says while putting Elizabeth in her high chair next to Kai. Laura and my mom come down grabbing cups of coffee and head over to the table greeting the kids, Sam and I. “Breakfast looks delicious,” Laura says. “Thank you, Sarah helped me” I say as I sit next to Sam and plate myself some food after cutting up some pieces of pancake for Elizabeth and giving Kai some applesauce. “So kids, your mom and I were thinking of going on a small trip altogether” Sam says. “Oh that’d be fun, where are we going?” Sarah asks. “We were thinking of going to a small town up north where we can see the stars at night and go hiking, fishing and go on a boat.” She says. “Fishing!?” Danny and Wyatt both say excitedly. “Yes, fishing. I think it’s time I teach you both how to fish.” She tells them. “This is going to be so much fun.” Sarah says. “Do you think uncle benji can come too?” Danny asks. “ I don’t see why not. I’ll text him after we finish eating” Sam says. “Ma, mama Sloan, would you like to join us?” She asks. “We would love to.” they say. The kids cheer in excitement as Kai just babbles cutely.

Nobody’s POV
Once they finish eating breakfast the kids go into the living room to play while Sam clears the table and loads the dishwasher. Scarlett pulls out her laptop and starts looking at cabins to rent for them to stay at. Sam grabs her phone and sends a text to Benji asking if he would like to join and he immediately replies saying yes he would love to. With that Scarlett books a large lake house cabin that sits on Lake Big Bear. This is going to be one great family trip.

Question for this chapter is- Who would you wanna go see in concert? Mine would be Taylor Swift, seeing the Eras tour tik tok videos makes me wish I went.
