Scarlett’s POV
I ended up falling asleep in Sam’s arms. I wake up to Sam lightly rubbing my back. “Hey Baby. Do you want me to take you upstairs so you can lay in bed? It'll be more comfortable for both of us. You can still cling to me like a koala if you want.” She says softly and I just nod. She stands up from the couch with her arms under my legs so I don’t fall. The house is very quiet. “Why is it so quiet?” I ask groggily. “It’s 12:30 at night and everybody is in bed. You fell asleep and I didn’t want to disturb you because my back was starting to get uncomfortable.” She explains to me. “Oh. I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” I tell her as she  sets me on the bed to get us something comfortable to sleep in. “It’s, fine Penguin. You are growing a human, it must take a lot of energy out of you.” She says, bringing me something to sleep in. “I do get tired at times.” I admit as she takes her jeans and hoodie off leaving her in boxers and a tank top. She slips under the covers and once I am changed I lay right on top of her and nuzzle my head in her neck. “Good night Penguin.” She says. “Good night, beautiful cinnamon roll.” I reply before falling back asleep.

Sam’s POV
I wake up to a small hand grabbing my arm. Scarlett is still on top of me. I turn my head and see Emma. “Hey sweetie, is something wrong?” I ask. “I need you and Mommy.” She says and Scarlett wakes up at the word ‘Mommy’ “Huh? What? Oh hey sweetheart.” Scarlett says sitting up. “I had a bad dream. Can I sweep with you?” She asks and Scarlett gets off my lap so she can pick Emma up. “Of course sweetheart. Do you want to talk about it?” Scarlett says placing Emma between us. “I don’t remember it, I just woke up scared.” She says. “Well you don’t have to be scared because you’ve got me and Mama to keep you safe.” Scarlett says. “I know. That’s why I came to you.” She says. I hate that she had a bad dream but I’m happy we make her feel safe. “Can we watch Avengers?” She asks and Scarlett rolls her eyes but agrees. “It’s Mommy!” She cheers. “Yes it is now go to sleep sweetie.” Scarlett says. “Ok.” She says curling into Scarlett is Emma’s definitely favorite. Wyatt always comes to me first and Emma always goes to Scarlett.

Scarlett’s POV
I wake up to the sun coming through the windows. Emma is still curled into my side sleeping peacefully. Sam is gone but I don’t want to wake up Emma so I’ll just text Sam. But Sarah texts me.
Sarah
Sarah: Check Instagram
Me: Why?
Sarah: Just do it please.
Me: Ok.
I open up instagram and see Sarah’s post.

“Mommy, what are you looking at?” Emma asks. I scroll up so she can see the picture. “I didn’t know she did that with Kai too.” She says. “What?” I ask. “She did that for Elizabeth and Wyatt and Me when we needed Mama she would be there.” She says and I want to cry at how cute that is. I didn’t know she did that. “Mommy what’s wrong?” Emma asks. “Nothing sweetie it’s just really sweet of your Mama to do that.” I tell her. “I’m hungry.” She says. “Ok let’s get something to eat.” I tell her. “Hey Penguin, what time is the doctor’s appointment?” Sam asks, walking into the kitchen with Kai. “At two we have plenty of time.” I tell her. “Sam don’t feed Bently from the table please.” I say as Sam gives him a piece of turkey bacon. “He likes it.” She says, rubbing his head. “Babe.” I scold. “Fine I will try and stop.” She gives in. “Can I come?” Danny asks. “Yeah I don’t see why not.” I tell him. “Did Mama show you her new song for you?” Danny asks. What song? “Danny, it's supposed to be a surprise.” Sam says, shaking her head. “Oh I’m sorry.” Danny apologizes. “It’s ok buddy. Sarah, can you watch the littles?” Sam asks and Sarah nods with a smile. “Scarlett, please come with me.” Sam says, holding out her hand for me to take which I do. “Ok I’ve been working on this song ever since you told me why you can’t sleep on my right side.” Sam says. “When I told you I need to hear your heartbeat?” I ask. “Yes. So this song is called Heartbeat. I hope you enjoy it.” She says and I go to the soundbooth but she stops me. “Uh I don’t normally do this but I’d like to hold you while I sing this one.” She says. “I have no problem with that.” I say and wrap my arms around her waist and her arms go around my shoulders. She puts on her headset and hits play.

I had to buy a heart monitor to do it but Mama Sloan thought it would be a nice touch.” Sam says. “I didn’t know my Mom knew what happened.” I say through tears fucking horemones. “Honey, she was at the hospital. She didn’t sleep in the bed with me but she was there.” Sam reminds me. “Oh yeah.” I say. “Do you like the song?” She asks. “I love it.” I tell her, pulling her down for a kiss and Sarah walks in. “I said not in my studio Yeshua!” She yells. “It was just a kiss and it’s not just your studio.” Sam says. “Well I have a client coming at noon so shoo.” She says. “Who’s your client?” I ask. “Kelly Clarkson, now out of my studio please.” She says. “Ok ok we’re going geez.” Sam says.
