"Hmmm..... Angel..." Hyunjin mumbled as he felt little wet spots cover his face. He cringed his face slightly as the soft spots turned into wet licks. His eyes finally opened as he was hit with a couple of puffs of foul smelling warm air.

He was faced with blotches of white and back fur and the sound of panting. He immediately cringed his face as he scooted backwards.

"Damn Khami..." He groaned in disgust. "Your breath was a lot more pleasant ten years ago.."

The chihuahua only wagged his tail and continued to pant right in his face. Hyunjin couldn't help but chuckle and smile softly at the ball of fluff. Even though Khami had some disgusting breath, he was still just plain adorable and the artist couldn't help but forgive it all.

Despite the half hearted protest his furry friend was dishing out, Hyunjin pulled Khami under the covers and cuddled him. The chihuahua truly was a menace and had never dared to admit he liked the snuggles, although he never tried to get away once he got the scratches on his stomach. Before long, the furry creature was happily pressed into Hyunjin's side and pawing the artist's hand anytime he would start to doze off again.

Khami seemed to lose his patience when Hyunjin dozed off completely. He wriggled loose from the artist's hold and scratched his hand, simultaneously leaving sloppy licks all over Hyunjin's face.

With a huff, Hyunjin moved Khami aside and sat up in the bed. He dragged his hands down his face and peeled his eyes open.

He forgot just how nice the morning sunlight was in this room.. especially this time of year. He distinctly remembers spending half of the morning every Christmas break under this very window with his sketchbook in hand.

Just like everything else in his lovestruck brain, it reminded him of Felix.  The light was golden and felt warm, just like it does in his apartment. He thought back to the way that Felix looked at him. The way the words slipped off his tongue when he was telling him how to draw. The image that Felix saw. That was the way he wanted to be. He wanted to be that person all of the time.

Hyunjin grabbed his phone and checked it. He was due for his appointment with Dr. Kim in an hour.

With a deep sigh, he laid on his stomach and rested his chin on his arms right in front of Khami. "What do you think I'm gonna walk into today, hm?"

The pup just looked back at him with big eyes, none the wiser about what the artist was even talking about. He let out a small bark and reached his paws out to scatch at Hyunjin's arm, demanding more pets.

The cute little face was able to get his spirits up just enough to oblige the request before standing up and getting dressed for the day.

"Mornin sunshine." His dad teased playfully at the serious case of bedhead his son was sporting. "I'll be taking you to Dr. Kim again today." He informed, sipping his coffee and sliding another cup across the table toward Hyunjin.

"Thanks." The artist smiled politely.

"How was it with your cousin?" His dad asked in a friendly manner. There was one thing he did appreciate about his dad, and that was that he was capable of literal small talk. Unlike his mom, his dad didn't seem to be prying.

"It was nice to see her again. She said mom was dramatic for saying she basically ghosted." Hyunjin chuckled and rolled his eyes.

His dad hummed in agreement and smiled knowingly.

"Can I ask you something?" The artist asked out impulsively. With his mom being out of the house, he figured now would be a good time to have some of his insecurities answered.
