Third Wave

"Hey baby.." Jisung stated hesitantly when Felix came in the door.

The younger twin sighed and looked back with amusement. "You can ask, Sung." He chuckled with a tired expression.

Jisung opened up his arms and made grabby hands, to which Felix giggled and hopped over, flopping into the older's hands and accepting the much needed cuddles.

"How was it?" The older cooed.

Felix sighed and shrugged. "She's really nice and I like her. It's just exhausting.." He melted into his twin's torso.

Jisung pursed his lips into a sympathetic smile. "Does that mean you want to take a nap? Or do you want to watch a movie until we have to get going?"

Felix picked his head up and raised a brow. "We?" He sassed. "It's your day off, Sungie."

Jisung rolled his eyes. "And new years is in three days. I have to ge-"

"We can do that tomorrow when we get the rest of the stuff." The younger interupted suspiciously. "What's the real reason?" He asked accusingly.

Jisung sighed in contemplation and dropped his shoulders in defeat. "It's the first time working with Hyunjin since the... pause. I'm just worried about you." He admitted with soft and concerned eyes.

Felix hugged Jisung closer and smiled softly. "Thank you, Sungie. But I'll be okay. This is Hyunjin we're talking about. We were in this awkward phase for much longer than we were actually together. This isn't new to us." He chuckled with an 'you know I'm right' expression.

Jisung scoffed lightheartedly. "That.. I can't argue." His amused expression dropping slightly right after. "Are you sure? I can stick around for emo-"

"I'm sure, Sungie." Felix smiled reassuringly. "I can handle this."

There were many things that Felix didn't feel confident about.. but with Hyunjin he did. Truth be told, he couldn't wait to see him. He misses the rose scent and the sound of his voice. He just missed the way he felt with Hyunjin... the way he has always felt. Safe.

"Ok. I trust you." The older smiled. "Just know I'm a phone call away if you need it." He smiled sweetly.

Felix returned the same smile and gave his twin one last hug before getting up and walking toward the bedroom. "I'm gonna take a shower to refresh... I love you Sungie." He cooed sweetly, earning kissy faces from Jisung.

"Cause I can hear the thunder from afar, a lightning in the dark. I can feel the fire come alive. So calm before the storm, so dark before the dawn. Oh I can see the fire in your ey-" Hyunjin sang along to the song under his breath as his paintbrush moved over the painting he was finishing up. It seemed to be the only thing he could really do at this point to stop him from feeling the loneliness that was setting in.

He was only pulled out of the daze by a call that came in from the one person in his family he didn't mind hearing from.

"Yej.. to what do I owe this pleasure?" He answered the call as playfully as he could.

"You didn't think I would let you get away with disappearing again did you?" She sassed immediately.

Hyunjin chuckled lightly. "I would never dream of it." He mused in mock offense.

"I wanted to call and ask about your apparent boyfriend you didn't think to mention to me?" She stated in a way you could sense the smirk on her face from a mile away.

"Wait, wha-"

"Your mom mentioned it during the obligatory end of year reunion." She interrupted with sass. "I was kind of hoping that having you back would mean you could be my partner in crime during those kinds of things." She laughed with a slight whine.
