Felix slipped into the bathroom as fast as the fuzzy socks, that unfortunately did not have grip, would take him. He needed to have a little moment to panic in peace.

With Wooyoung, he couldn't really feel himself falling. It was more like one day he just woke up and he was who his mind went to. He found himself looking forward to the class that he shared with the older despite the fact that the professor was old fashioned and seemed to have forgotten the questions on his exams without bothering to look back at them. Wooyoung was the highlight of his day, but it was a sudden shift. It wasn't like with Hyunjin.

With the artist, it started from a tiny speck of intrigue wrapped in the attractive packaging that was Hyunjin's physical appearance and the slight surprise at his seemingly unwillingness to accept acts of kindness much like Felix himself. Next it was the surprised expression that Hyunjin wore when the insecurity about his candle hobby presented itself. As if the insecurity was the surprising part rather than the actual interest in candles. The shivers that ran down his spine when Hyunjin grabbed his wrist with such determination but simultaneous care and the small runs of the artist's thumb over his skin.

All the seemingly small things added up to the feeling of safety, excitement, intrigue and desire to learn that leave Felix in this bathroom fighting off the same feeling of panic that started to boil up and rear it's ugly head on Monday. It was nice to think about hypotheticals when that was all they were... hypothetical. But the more time he spent with Hyunjin, and the more he got to know him... to learn from him... the more the hypothetical strayed to reality. Every time the hypothetical would cross into reality, there was a flicker of panic just like this.

On the couch during his spiral, when Hyunjin explained his views on their physical intimacy, and now this seemingly innocent moment... seemingly, because it was so natural. Effortless. The fact that they have gone from a place of shy politeness, to casual banter and flirting that feels easy, is crossing the hypothetical of a real love into a territory that is becoming real love.

After a good minute of running thoughts through his head, Felix looked into the mirror with surprise. Along with the puffy red nose and slightly watery eyes, was a soft smile. He was panicked, but he was smiling. There was no denying that Felix found the idea of falling in love again absolutely terrifying. The risk of being broken or betrayed was not lost on him. The potential of having another set of memories plague his mind when he smells the perfume of an unknowing stranger down the street, was not ignored. But despite that, there was a smile. There was one feeling that was slowly overpowering all of the consequences that were possible... and that was trust.

It wasn't trust that Hyunjin would love him. It wasn't trust that he would never have to ask for a single thing. It wasn't even trust that Hyunjin would ever be his. It was trust that no matter what, the artist would handle his heart with care, whether it be to join them together as one like a sappy romance novel, or to let him go because he changed his mind, even anything in between.

"We're gonna be just fine.." He assured to his own reflection in the bathroom mirror before blowing his nose, which he came in there to do, and fixing his hair out of nervous habit.

When he came back out, Hyunjin was already filling up a pot with water while an array of vegetables consumed the counter space and the gentle melody of 'arcade' played in the background.

Felix made his way over to the kitchen and took one step inside the imaginary boundary that separated it from the living room before Hyunjin cleared his throat.

"Oh no you don't." He ordered without even looking back, leaving Felix to huff in confusion.

"Wha-"

Hyunjin finally turned and raised a brow challengingly.
