A/N: as promised here is a little snippet of my next story "rewrite the stars"! I'm going to try to make it slightly different from steal his heart in the characters and writing style so bare with me 😂

It's my version of a spin on West Side Story meets high school. It will be a shorter one (that's the plan) and will be more teen friendly outside of some of the language.

I'll have the first 3 chapters posted later on today for you guys!

"You are such a Noah's kid." Hyunjin laughed with venom in the delivery. "I can't believe even in punishment you are such a perfectionist." He spat as condescending as ever. The whole demeanor made Felix crunch in on himself and caused the panic to bubble up.

"And you are such a Jow." The blond spat back. "Actually, more like the worst of them. I don't think I've met anybody as shallow and uncaring as you."

"At least Jows know how to have a little fun." Hyunjin fought back. "At least I know how to have fun." He side eyed with a demeaning laugh.

"Right." Felix scoffed sarcastically. His anxiety pit was suddenly replaced with a burning fire. He was so tired of taking shit.. especially when it came from Hyunjin. "Well at least Noah's have a fucking future. Good luck building a life off drunk stories and mistakes. Please be serious."

"Theres only so much learning you can do about life from a book. Can't build a life if you never live one." The older sang teasingly as if it was some kind of taunt.

It was a taunt.

Felix clicked his tongue and dropped the sponge in the bucket of now murky water, causing some to spill out and a scoff to escape from Hyunjin's lips. He was about to retort back when the older threw his own sponge on the bench.

"You know what? I'm done with this." Hyunjin announced as he stuffed his things into his bag and haphazardly slung his jacket over over his shoulder.

Felix shut his mouth and looked at him in disbelief. "And how are you going to do this partner punishment without a partner. Don't be stupid." He spat with his own condescending tone. He had to ignore the pang in his stomach at the word. As much as he may hate Hyunjin in this moment, it didn't feel right to call him stupid. He knew he was far from it.

"The literal definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Right now I have two problems." Hyunjin shrugged in defense. "You. And this assignment. I'm not wasting my time worrying about both when I have a way to solve one." He explained flatly.

The nonchalance of it all made Felix cringe. He could hate Hyunjin all he wanted and it was much easier to be mad at the guy when he was irrationally annoying. But he couldn't deny that those words hurt. He hated feeling like a burden to anybody..

Hyunjin stood there for a second waiting for some kind of argument back. He didn't even know why he was waiting.. giving Felix the time of day knowing that Mr. Perfect would never be satisfied.

But the argument never came.

Felix simply softened his expression and picked the sponge back out of the water. He wrung it out and turned his back to the door to clean a different spot of the wall.

The nuisance hint of guilt formed in the pit of his stomach at the sight. He should be happy that he won the battle.. should be cheering in victory. But he wasn't.

He didn't even bother festering in the feeling any longer. Instead, he shoved the doors to the dance hall open and stormed out, leaving Felix to ponder his own actions as he wiped over the same spot for what felt like an eternity.

Was he really creating a problem?
