A couple of minutes later, the timer for the scalloped potatoes rang out.
"Can you take that out of the oven, please? I'll put the beef to rest." Felix requested.
Hyunjin let go of his arms and saluted, turning off the oven right after and placing a coaster on the counter. He quickly pulled the dish out of the oven and the mouthwatering scent of spices and cream filled the apartment.
As soon as the scent hit his nose, Felix's stomach grumbled, making him stop in his tracks and look over his shoulder at Hyunjin, who was looking back at him with an obvious attempt to hold back laughter.
"Go ahead.." He pouted, sighing and preparing himself for the chuckle to come. Instead, the older walked over and bent down, raising up his shirt and placing a kiss on his stomach as if he were pregnant.
"Why don't you go take a seat while I plate it?" Hyunjin offered, placing a chaste kiss on Felix's lips as well.
"But.."
"It's the least I can do, Angel. Go ahead." Hyunjin interupted sternly, nudging his head in the direction of the table.
When Felix turned away, he grabbed two plates and placed the beef and potatoes on first. He organized the beans on the plate to form a heart, mostly in a dramatically playful way.. but he couldn't deny that he had always dreamed to have this. He had always dreamt to be this disgustingly corny with someone.. something he would forever blame on his mom's love for Kdramas that he ultimately ended up watching with her growing up.
With a teasing smile, Hyunjin placed the plate of food on the table, immediately earning a giggle from the younger.
"You are such a cheeseball!" He cooed with a bright smile.
The smile on the younger's face took Hyunjin's breath away. "Holy shit.. I don't care what I am... that smile is worth everything.." He sighed genuinely, his heart clenched in his chest and inspiration to paint hitting him like a truck.
Thinking it was just playful dramatics, Felix scoffed with sass and rolled his eyes. The smile never left his face, though. He leaned across the table and cupped the artist's jaw, pulling him into a tender kiss.
"My one and only cheeseball." Felix cooed, planting a last smiling kiss on the older's lips before pulling away.
"Be fucking still my beating heart." Hyunjin whispered out, smiling down at his plate but looking at the younger through his lashes.
Felix giggled cutely and let the slight blush cover his cheeks, not bothering to hide them at this moment. He took a slice of the beef with some of the potatoes and blew on it to cool it down. He didn't want to touch the green beans. He loved them.. but the cute gesture was too beautiful to mess up. Leave it to an artist to make a simple green bean heart look perfect... although maybe it was just this particular artist.
"You're not eating your beans, Angel." Hyunjin mused softly when the younger placed the last of the beef and potatoes in his mouth, just hovering the fork over his plate.
"Because it's too cute.. I can't eat it.." Felix cooed softly in return, smiling down at the little heart on his plate.
Hyunjin chuckled with endearment in the tone and grabbed Felix's hand. "And I'll make you a million more. Go ahead and eat it.. we worked hard on that." He urged with loving eyes.
Felix's blush intensified and he hesitated, leading Hyunjin to stab into one of the beans and blow on it to cool it down. When the steam slowed down he reached back across the table and held it up to Felix's mouth.
