"I didn't want this, don't glare at me as if this is my fault!" You glare at Adam regardless, because Elias opened the door not just to Lilith but him as well. Even though you know, with that invisible collar around his neck, he can't say no if Lilith demands he go somewhere with him.
"What does she want, Adam?" You ask instead as you glance towards the door where Lucifer and Charlie still haven't returned from. Because Lilith had to intrude on family time with some oh so important reason.
Wasn't she supposed to be out of the hotel still? Why the fuck is she back?
Fortunately, Vaggie is keeping Elias occupied for the moment, so you don't have to worry about Lilith coming any closer to your son or Adam potentially going back on your agreement to wait until you've talked further.
"She's claiming she heard some shit from Heaven." What? How? Heavens on lockdown, no one can leave but the archangels. "Something about she went to the embassy and saw signs that your damn snake finally got an answer back." What does that mean?
"Answer back from who?" What kind of message did Lucifer send to Heaven? And for that matter, who would answer back after what Gabriel told you guys on his visit?
***Heaven***
"Brother, where have you been?" Gabriel brushes off his robe, grinning back at Raphael who doesn't lift that cautious look on him.
"To check on our father's creation, of course!" Truth without a full revelation. Gabriel knows himself a gossip, but even he won't share what he's learned. Where he's been...
All these years...
Michael went to search for you, but Gabriel, while not as fast as his older brother, has spent the most time searching when he's been graced with the time to do so. Never gave up hope even when your beautiful wings showed up at the steps of their home. While others might have, he never did.
What's eighty years of searching and waiting compared to the thousands beforehand? Compared to finding you'd somehow procreated a child without the aid of Chameul, a halfling who somehow has both human and angelic lineage?
"Michael called for a meeting, Gabriel." Gabriel sighs, shoulders slumping as he does so hate when Michael summons them all. Since the mass casualty event months ago, it's always been the same boring nothingness. Sit and wait, sit and watch, don't leave home without his permission, blah, blah, blah...
"At the least tell me it's of some interest this time." Gabriel falls in line with Raphael as he starts the walk up the long path to home. Towards their home that has started to feel more like a jail in the last century since Michael started his slow decline towards paranoia.
"Michael has spoken with the seraphim in relation to the Hell uprising situation." At last? It's been months; it shouldn't have taken so long to respond to that historical loss of angelic life. Sera has been beating down their doors this entire time...
"Has our father finally answered him?" The way Raphael's lips purse, thin to that concerned line they always do when things aren't working out as he hopes, tells Gabriel that God has in fact not answered Michael.
It's been too long...
God has never gone this long without answering Michael. Without answering any of them, but especially Michael, his second. There have always been periods of silence, but this one feels different...
"The morning star has reached out." Shivers rake down Gabriel's spine, his wings bristling behind him at the news that his brother tried contacting them. In the millennia since he fell, it had never been him who reached out. The woman from the garden had reached out in his stay, but never him.
