"They didn't say anything else? Just to be at the embassy Friday morning?" You hand Lucifer his mug, unable to hold back the eye roll at how seeing his cock of the walk rooster mug does make him smile a bit easier after this morning. His dad jokes always make him feel better.

"They want Charlie there with me." Lucifer answers Vaggie after taking a sip of his coffee, letting you tuck yourself back in against his side. Well, he prefers it; there's no letting honestly.

"They didn't say what they want?"

"I left probably two dozen messages with them since hearing some other angels had been revived down here, so they were bound to respond eventually." You're not even going to ask...

"Dad!"

"What??? I said I'd talk to them, Char Char!" That's more like harassment...

"Is that how he gets with you if you don't answer fast enough, doll face?" Angel asks as he passes behind the couch, before joining you with a fizzling glass of who knows what.

"Kinda."

"Hey! That's not true!" Lucifer is feeling better, so of course you have to check his pride. Even send a smirk back at him as he pouts at you as if you've ruined his day.

"Just marry each other already." Husk throws from his post behind the bar, unphased when Lucifer's glare turns on him instead. "Practically stripping each other with your--"

"OKAY! That's enough of that!" You stop Husk in a heartbeat when you see Elias making his way towards you from the staircase, Ortho bounding away from him likely in search of someone who will let him game.

Lucifer being the devil he is though nuzzles his face against your neck with a devious chuckle, obviously enjoying Husk's visuals. At least he's feeling better.

"What's the plan then? They could still want payback for the extermination." Angel fortunately brings the topic back to the man for Friday. As if Fridays aren't busy enough, you now have Heaven, Vox and going to Wrath to do on Friday...

"We'll go and hear them out." Lucifer answers after another sip of coffee, while you take a sip of your own tea. "Let them explain themselves, then I'll decide if I need to shove my cane up one of their--"

"Dad!"

"Is Heaven somewhere I can see before I go back to Earth?" You blink, taking a moment to register just what your son has asked before you turn to him. It's not the question; you know he's overly curious. It's the fact that Elias isn't referring to life as his home, but Earth.

"I'm not sure that's a good idea." Lucifer answers first, seeming to notice your worry as his tail curls around your calf. "If they knew you were here at any point, they'd claim you've been corrupted."

"Corrupted?"

"What he means is they might unjustly deny you the right to ascend." Even though it's God's will if Elias belongs in the golden city. "But the bigger issue is that they all view Lucifer as the evillest being in creation, so anyone adjacent to him is ruined in their eyes."

"You're one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting!" Trust your son to also see the truth you've known almost as long as you've known your little devil.

"Thanks!"

"We should prepare in case they decide to retaliate for the extermination." Vaggie brings the conversation back on track. "We need to be ready for any scenario. They've had all these months to think over everything and make a plan of their own."
