Chapter 123: Aftermath

The gunfire and explosions had calmed down as the Loyalists of Union have either been captured, killed or fled the city. The Traitors of Union had mostly surrendered to the Allies willingly. Some stayed active and chased down the Loyalists out of the city. Unity City had fallen; the symbol of global tyranny had fallen as well. Union Academy, the ones responsible for the regime and countless suffering, has been defeated. (Y/n) stood at the edge of Union Academy with his arms crossed looking towards the rest of Unity City with a smile on his face. They won the War. People died on both sides of the battle but most of them are Union losses. Still, families have to mourn the dead both in Union and in the Separatist States. Two Vulture Droids fly past overhead and head towards the city. Hearing someone approaching him from behind, he turns to face them while unfolding his arms. It was Vader, Ahsoka and Rex. He could see Nomad and the others in the background.

"The city is secure; Separatist Forces have sent relief ships to give supplies to civilians and survivors." Rex informed. "Reports are flooding in from around the world, Union's grip is falling quickly. Entire garrisons are defecting."

"Union is as good as dead." Ahsoka added.

"Which means this War is over and the people of Earth can finally be free." (Y/n) said. "But that doesn't mean we are done here; Union Loyalists still remain and until we can pacify them Earth will still be in danger."

"Earth isn't the only thing we should focus on, (Y/n)." Vader said.

"Right." (Y/n) said with a sigh.

Palpatine. Taking him down will bring an end to the Sith and teardown the old world of the Force allowing them to build a new order of Force users. It will also free the Galaxy from his tyranny. But it won't be easy. Killing him is one thing, but then they need to show the truth to the galaxy. So hopefully they could gather information and evidence showing that Palpatine was responsible for the Clone Wars and that he manipulated both sides of the conflict. He knows it will be difficult because so many people in the Republic, now the Empire, trusted him.

"As you two sure you want to take Palpatine on alone?" Ahsoka asked. "I could always come with."

"We're sure, Ahsoka." (Y/n) said. "It has to be us. He manipulated our lives and he'll pay for it."

"Besides, someone needs to stay on Earth to ensure its safe." Vader said. "Who knows how long we'll be gone."

"Alright if that's the case, then will you at least tell Yor?" Ahsoka said to (Y/n).

"I will, just not over comms. I want to do it face to face." (Y/n) said. "It's better that way."

"Shall I have a ship prepared?" Rex asked.

"Yes, because it's best if we deal with Palpatine sooner than later." (Y/n) said.

Rex nods before he turns and went away to prepare a ship to take them to Kuo Kuana. Once he was gone, the three Force users were left to their own devices and their own thoughts. (Y/n) was processing all the events that just happened following his victory over Sirzechs. After he beat the Devil King, the Holy properties of his Lightsaber that he had been granted vanished on their own. He guessed it was only a temporary upgrade and a necessary one. His forces did find Henry's body alongside other UIB Agents, and he convinced them to give him a proper resting place. Considering all he'd been through and what he did, he deserved it. The Angels didn't stay long, only until all the Devils had been removed from the city and banished back to their domain. Once that was done they all left. The traitors of Union that remained in the city did their best to ensure civilian safety but given the broadcast that Henry left, the civilians didn't appreciate it. The flags of the old regime were torn down by civilians and traitors who even burned the flags.
