Chapter 35- "Dad Dancing II..."

Clara's PoV

'Now John didn't want to do this speech a and quite honestly I can't blame him so we've decided that we won't do a speech. But I just wanted to say he's met best mate and my best man. He's the only person I really love and the only person I know around that will give him true happiness is Clara. And she's okay too' he smirked raising a glass.

The wedding dinner was actually really lovely.

It was just like a roast really with the chicken and beef and potatoes and other little bits and pieces and we all knew that the buffet would come out later so nobody's would be going hungry.

'Mummy. I ated all the chicken' Poppy said rather proud of herself as I she pulled on John's trousers distrusting our kissing session after speeches whilst everyone else was eating.

I had gone to the toilet but needed assistance so Lilly had come with me and when I came out - John was there.

'That's good for you' I said rolling my eyes, but John was distracted now so picked Poppy up and took her back to her table.

She was a funny little thing. She doesn't shy away from our affection like Evie and Avia do. If we kiss she doesn't care but the girls get all grossed out by it.

I can't tell you how many times John and I have been so very close to having sex and either Poppy or Henry have come in.

'Mummy Clara. Will you dance with me and Ollie?' Henry asked as I took a sip of my drink and looked round.

'Yeah okay' I laughed taking his hand and he dragged me towards the dance floor.

When I got there however John was doing his ridiculous dancing with Richard and the pair of them were standing next to Avia and Evie who were bitching like a couple of old women.

'Daddy stop' Avia whined rolling her eyes.

'Hey. I'll dance as terribly as I want too' he hummed with a smirk and a wink towards Richard who had Ollie run towards him and started dancing in the same way embarrassing the hell out of Evie again.

We all hate the Dad dancing - the only thing that was more embarrassing was suddenly my Dad started joining in having had quite a few drinks.

'Dad stop. Your embarrassing not only me but your currently embarrassing yourself' I whined, walking away.

'See. You don't like being embarrassed' Evie said following me away from the men.

'Oh please. My Dad is a lot older than yours. You'll understand one day when your husband is embarrassing your kids' I said.

'And I bet Daddy will still be embarrassing me even then' she said rolling her eyes. So much like me.

'So' I smirked grabbing another coke and taking a sip before turning to look at John. It was the first time I had pretty much seen him all evening.

That's the thing with weddings and social events - you have to socialise and John doesn't like doing flat anymore.

He didn't even like going to his work Christmas do last year because it meant anxiety of parties.

'You alright?' I asked genuinely concerned.

'I-- I'm fine. I'll be okay. Just need a few minutes' he smiled assuringly.

I knew he would be okay. I'm here. I'm always here. I pecked him on the cheek before moving towards his lips but didn't get a chance because he spotted someone out of the corner of his eye.

'Oh hell no' John said as he spotted Avia talking to some group of relatives.

'What?' I said running after him from the bar just wanting to have a peaceful moment with my husband - but that obviously wasn't to be.

John was watching his mother like a hawk and everyone that she spoke too - but she didn't know she had as many grandchildren as she did. Even I knew that.

That's probably why he was so anxious. I reckon if his Mum hadn't of turned up unannounced he would have gone through with the original wedding plans. He would have got married inside but he needed to feel like he was in control.

'Hasn't she grown John. The last time I saw you it was when you were 2 days old' she said grabbing Avia's cheek and squeezed it.

'Get off her Mum' John said rolling his eyes but as soon as John was out from his hiding place the kids had found us.

Henry was instantly attached to his leg - literally wouldn't let go - and Evie and Poppy seemed to be arguing about a shoe.

'Daddy. She-- she won't give me my shoe back' Poppy cried as I rolled my eyes.

'Give her the shoe back Evie. Stop being stupid' John said lifting poppy into his arms.

'Oh don't they all look so similar?'

'Hmm'

'Who's this Daddy?' Henry asked as two year olds do.

'This would be your grandma. You won't be seeing her again' John said and ushered them all away. 'Don't talk to them anymore. If you want to stay you stay away from my children' John instructed.

I think she got the message.

Of course that was until we were caught together with her in the back room because John was in there shouting at her and I interviewed at the end.

'Just leave Mum. Your really not welcome' John scoffed as his Mum stood mouth agape.

'David. Talk some sense into your brother' she argued.

'Why? You'll just find other ways to hurt him. Maybe it would be best if you did go'

'Can I say goodbye to my grandkids?' She asked.

'No' both of them said at the same time as she did turn around and leave and I instantly went straight to John's side and pulled him into a huge hug.

'John. You need to calm down' I instructed.

'Yeah. She just makes me so fricken angry' he growled even at me.
