Chapter 120- "Boys..."
Clara's PoV
'Lights our before 10. I'll be back to check on you all again. I'll know if your still awake' I yelled into each of the girls rooms.
None of them were actually going to go to sleep.
I was going to have to put up with 30 sleep deprived kids tomorrow and I could hear Adrien shouting the same thing just across the hall to his group of boys.
I had just finished checking my floor of girls in the cabin and rounded the corner to the top of the stairs.
I was shocked to find that there was voices coming from the bottom of the stairs.
What was even more shocking was that it was a voice that I definitely recognised.
It was highly unlike Avia to be sneaking around but then at her age I was exactly the same.
I remember a trip I went on where me and three girls snuck out to a park where we ate so many sweets that we were sick on the coach about a hundred times on the way home.
Just about sums up my life.
But what really got me was who she was sitting with at the bottom of the stairs.
'Ready?'
'Ahah. I'm not that great in selfies' Avia muttered brushing the brown curls out of her face and pushed them over her shoulder then leaned into he boy who wrapped his arm around her shoulder and they smiled.
11 isn't too young for love is it?
Actually yes it really is. She was a player that's alright. But my first kiss was 10. It was some boy who was playing kiss chase and he took the kissing part way too far.
'Hey you look fine' he smirked as she chuckled then looked down at her hands.
She was nervous. It was cute. She was still in her leggings and hoody from today. She had style though. It was adorable how stylish she was at only 11 years old.
'So it's quite cool how you can ride horses. Wish I could do that' he hummed.
'Oh yeah. The horse riding. It's cool. My sister does it as well. She's probably way better than me' she said rolling her eyes.
It was nice to see her engaging with someone. She doesn't have a lot of friends in the class like Evie does. She doesn't socialise Evie but does.
The responsible teacher in me was urging me to catch the two of them and send them their separate ways but the parent side of me was intrigued to see what might happen.
And what did happen was a surprise.
'Nah. I bet your awesome at it'
'You should come along some time?' She suggested.
'I'd never be allowed. My Mum and Dad can barley afford the school let alone anything else. It took them months to save up for this trip. They want me to go to the high school. I got in but the fees like double in price'
'You wouldn't need to pay. You can come and ride my horse'
'You own a horse?'
'It's names lavender' she explained rather gleefully.
I was so interested in their conversation that I wasn't really watching how close the pair of them had inched together.
She was 11. How could they actually be flirting?
As fast as she had inched forward, James pecked her on the mouth and then stood up. 'See you tomorrow Avia' he said with a nervous stutter and ran towards his dorm.
I shit myself then knowing Avia would come by any minute to the dorms so I rushed back to my room and thought about everything.
She had become a little lady. She was no longer just a kid anymore.

'You are joking? Who the hell does that kid think he is?' John scoffed as I told him over the phone the events of the evening.
In hindsight I should have known it would have been a stupid idea but he's my husband and Avia's Dad. He should know about advancements in her life.
'Calm down John. It's a part of life'
'She's 11. She shouldn't be kissing anybody yet' he growled.
'How old were you when you had your first kiss?' I laughed. 'Because I was 10. My first proper, proper kiss was when I was 11 and a half. Avia is technically 11 and nearly a half' I pointed out.
'I was 12. But that was only because I was playing it cool for quite a while. There was this really hot brunette that I had my eyes on for ages' he smirked.
'Tell me that brunette wasn't me?'
'God no. It was Mandy Richardson. She was two years above us. She was my first kiss but only because I cornered her one day. She lived two doors down to me and our parents were good friends. I got away with it and we vowed never to mention it' he said. 'Who is this kid anyway?'
'Jamie Mahoney. Quite smart actually. He's in 6Z. It's amazing how they've ever talked'
'Hang on are you telling me he was in the younger year? The sligh devil is younger than her?' John growled.
'Actually no. He's September. He's older than Avia' I hummed.
'That's even worse' John scoffed as the door bounded open and I panicked thinking that a student was in trouble when I turned to look at Avia.
'You saw me kissing Jamie?' She scoffed with folded arms.
'John? I'm going to have to call you back' I mumbled.
She looked like she was kind of fuming. And in all fairness I couldn't blame her.
'You told Daddy?' Ugh. Your so the worst' she growled storming out the room and slamming the door as I ran after her.
'Rules are rules Avia! That's a lunchtime detention Monday with me for being out of your room out of hours' I yelled down the corridor as another door slammed.
Why wouldn't I tell John? He's my husband.
